Correct tyre pressure E90 stock 16" tyres

Hi all

What is the right tyre pressure for E90 stock 16" run flat tyres, normally with just 1 passenger? The label on the car has different pressure units than what's in petrol station.

Also, should the pressure be same/different between front and back tyres?

Many thanks.

Re: Correct tyre pressure E90 stock 16" tyres

E90 320i drivers with stock 16" rims. The recommended pressure, as printed on the driver door, is 2.0 and 2.2 bar for front and back respectively. That's equal to 30 psi or 210 kpa for the front and 33 psi or 230 kpa for the back.

I have recently rotated my tires and balanced all of them. The workshop recommended I have all the tires at the same pressue for a more comfortable ride. I wanted to try it out and ask him to pump 210 all round. After a drive along the NS highway, I found my car floating and not stable at high speed. I went to the petrol station and check tire pressues and found about 180 kpa on all wheels. Reset back to the factory recommendations and everything is back to normal. Not going back to the workshop anymore.

Hope it helps.

Re: Correct tyre pressure E90 stock 16" tyres

Tks for this thread. I was searching for this pressure tyre in da Internet for quite a long time.
Btw, anyone try 32psi front 40psi rear?

Re: Correct tyre pressure E90 stock 16" tyres

I'm not sure abt it. I read it in another forum which a guy rec me that.
Am afraid at 40psi, if e tyre to hit something sharp. It will just give way.
Am now at petrol shell station. Trying to get answer n pump back. Do ya have any rec. more to FC, comfort driving (daily) 16" stock Bridgestone.
Currently on Vpower but manage only 7.6L/km.
Tt puzzle me

If you are on RFTs, they wun be that comfortable... not to the extent you are looking for.

Would you mind to share more details with me, will you? I was thinking RFT was much safer in term of the technology, but i knows nuts abt the fros n cons.
If to change, u have any recommendation.

Correct tyre pressure E90 stock 16" tyres

Rft = Lagi hard sidewalls = cushioning mostly from suspensions.

That's why non rft more comfortable.

Re: Correct tyre pressure E90 stock 16" tyres

i on 16" non-rft. pump 280 rear 240 front which is about 40psi rear, 35psi front

i get about 9.5km/l

tyres shouldn't burst if hit something sharp like nails/screws. unless you hit the kerb hard which in this case, even at lower pressures will also burst

i on 16" RFT, 31 front 35 back. 215-240PSI

get 8.6KM/L.

I agreed to ur saying.

U been in this pressure for a long run?
Can the RFT 16' used the same pressure as u mention above (non-RFT)

Re: Correct tyre pressure E90 stock 16" tyres

Check your tire specs online for max inflation pressure. As long as you do not exceed manufacturer specs should be fine.

Also keep in mind that pumping the tires when hot and cold will give u different results. When pumping hot, the actual pressure will become lower when cold and vice versa

Should add 3psi to specs when pumping hot.
