Control arm? Tie Rod?

Hi guys

Was talking to Rodders about this at meet-up and experienced the following:

After driving for a while when coming to a stop to do reverse parking and turning steering wheel at the same time, some "clacking" noises appeared at the bottom front.

Only happens when reversing after driving for a while.

My ride is lowered and only 41K on the clock.

What could it be?

Thanks!

Re: Control arm? Tie Rod?

Most likely it's time to change them bro. Best thing to do is get Ah Wee to hoist the car up and check. He'll be able to tell you if they're due for a change. I'll be going down one of these Saturdays for him to check....knn....time to spend money again.

Re: Control arm? Tie Rod?

i can tell u now its your custer arm bush. i had it changed for 200bucks at BVo and the problems i did have on it went away. the car immediately felt more sharp and consice on turnings. However, let BVO check again for u..

Cheers All.

Yep. Did the same on Saturday. Problem now gone.

Re: Control arm? Tie Rod?

I got the same problem too. went to bvo a few weeks ago and it is the control arm bush... that time there is no stock so i didn't change. too lazy to go and change.

Rod: you might want to call them to check for stock, the bush wears off very fast and so they usually run out of stock.

powerflex ones relates to the bushing on the individual wheel. that one doesnt wear out that easily unless u track your car very often. the main one that controls the front is known as the custer arm bush. and thats the one that wears and tears faster than the other ones. BTW, powerflex ones does stiffen ur steering alot giving u a more precise ride however, its 1.3K!!! Wait for mine to wear off first then perhaps i'll change. :D

1.3k? which bushing is that?

front bushing shld be the control arm bushing and the rear is the trailing arm bushing.

I know BVO has trail arm bushing limiter which gives you a sharper handling car. Basically they add a piece of metal to limit the bushing movement. Not very sure if they have it for the front.
