Considering an E36. Yay or Nay?

Hi all,


I'll be getting my license very soon and the couple of E36s on sgcarmart caught my attention.

Whats your take on them?

It seems that a 318i could be had for under 25k e.g. these: Singapore Used Car Listings - sgCarMart

Would it be wise to get one? Pros, cons, consumption etc.

Edit: Similarly, if y'all got any suggestions for other cars (I know this is a BMW forum) for a first car, please suggest! Budget's probably below 40k.

I drive a small E36 and am happy with it. Power division suz but handling if fine. There are some problems though, although it is pretty refined, there's alway room for improvement so you do abit of changes here and there and end up thinking how to evaluate and ehance the performance of your interior carpet. The forum people here termed this as the "mod virus"... whatever it meant??...
