Coilovers on new 316i

I'm considering whether I should install coilovers or to defer it to later. Have read much about the great reviews on the internet and the improvement it brings to the handling. My car is a sport line and is 3 months old from PML. I wonder will it void the warranty from PML or BMW if I do so?

Regards.

Coilover normally will be stiffer than stock shocks. If you are looking for comfort bias driving experience coilover are not suitable for you.

Also rear passenger will feel the most.

BUT, if you want great handling and cornering ability, it will be the good choice. Brand does play a big parts so take your time to survey before purchase. Test drive others car with coilover to compare.

i think u didnt answer ts question. it will not void warranty but since your car is so new and younstill have 2 year 9 mth of warranty, i suggest u not to do it. just in casee in future u have rattling, here got knocking sound there got squeaks, pml can always use the coilover as the reason to a certain extent. but if ypu heck care those, then pls go for it but pls rmb change rims and lup bodykit. if not look a bit wierd

Re: Coilovers on new 316i

I have previously driven a M performance 318i E46. So, I'm quite used to and definitely prefer a stiffer setup. Handling will be top in my list. I find the Sport Line F30 too soft. Hence, really thinking of going for a coilover this time. I have changed my rim from 17" to 19". It does look quit high though. I have not spruced it up with body kit and likely I would not go for the body kit to save some cost.

Coilovers is high on my agenda, but the thought of PML giving me all kind of excuses kind of put me off. Is there any bro who faced difficulty with PML when it comes to problem seemingly not related to coilover?

Re: Coilovers on new 316i

Changed to H&R 1 month after I collected my 316.

So far went back to service once and complain about rattling sound etc and have the problems fixed without any protests from pml.

I did not even remove my piggyback when servicing.

Thanks, bro LimXiaoMing.

Did you find out what was the cause of that rattling sound ?
