Wahlaueh, I saw THREE small roaches in my car today. :shoot: My friend smacked two, but still got 1 roaming around. :shakehea:

How can I get rid of these pests? Other than pandan leaves, has anybody tried those poison you buy at supermarkets?

I'm scared that one day my wife drives it and she sideswipe a motorbike just because she saw a roach. :whattheh:

Re: Cockroach in the car!!!

its best that you smokeout your ride with pesticide for 1-2hr then air your ride+air freshener thereafter

Re: Cockroach in the car!!!

I dun wanna kill myself any more. I'd like a more human friendly solution for now...

When I was young my room had a termite infestation under the parquet floor. As a dumb kid I literally emptied a bottle of Bygone into the floor, left the room to smokeout for a day... and slept in my bedroom just 1 day after I did that. The room still stinks, but as a young and stupid kid I didn't give a s***.

According to my friend in environmental science he says I won't see the effect near term. it is likely carcinogenic / cancer causing over 15 up to 60 years. :(

So for all the bros out there, smoking out your car is NOT a good idea. What kills the roaches and bugs WILL kill you too. Its just that weight by weight humans need much more poison, but it will kill you slowly but surely.

I do not use any Bygone or that crap anymore... even @ home.

Re: Cockroach in the car!!!

for every one cockroach u see there is usually 15 others...

u seen small cockroach... in fact a few... i think theres an infestation and they are nymphs that just hatched...

im not scaring you... but its not funny and probably the worst thing that can ever happen to ur car..

my suggestion... wait a few weeks.. do you see more? u see one u catch one... but if it seems endless... bring it to the professionals.... else sell the car..

roaches has been around for the longest time... and theres a reason for that

Re: Cockroach in the car!!!

pandan leaves works wonders for me and i also put in roach trap from ntuc.

most ineffective way is smokeout and sunout. or at least it doesnt work for me.

Re: Cockroach in the car!!!

Bro, NEVER NEVER use pesticide especially if u happen to fetch yr kids everyday. NTUC buy one dun waste time. The best and most effective ways is to use a roach trap which I happen to cm across many many yrs ago in outram OG. Whenever there is a roach, i wil place one in my car and the nx day u wil see roaches stuck in the trap. Its safe and enviromental friendly to use, no smell no hassle. So far i hav only seen it in OG outram. The product is like a small flat board where u can fold it into a small trap house, peel off the sticker and place a small pill in the centre of it. The box is pink in colour with japanese wordings. Later i wil go to my car and take a pics to post here.

Once upon a time, botay saw not 1 but 3 roaches in his car and he scream like no tmr. He tel me "U dun see i big big size bt i really scare cockroaches" so he ask me hw? After usin this product, the nx day i saw him and he immediately run towards me, i tot he wan to humtan me bt instead he hug me with his watery eyes say "THANK YOU BRO" i comfort him by strokin his hair gently. All the roaches is trapped!

Re: Cockroach in the car!!!

After stroking his hair did u two go hotel 81?

Re: Cockroach in the car!!!

Almost but nv cos too late. But he did stroke my hair bk.

Re: Cockroach in the car!!!

Put a bottle of Bygone in your car, no cockroaches ever appear in my car from then. they are sensitive. This is thru many years of try an error. This cockroaches survive by just eating dust.. they no need food.

dun ever use the double side tape catcher... u invite more to come to ur car & a few scrafices but the rest survive continue to make love & breed.

OMG....that's one of the worst pest you can have in the car! I agree with Terry, better bring it to a specialist to get your car "fogged"....and then never ever eat anything in the car. The food crumps / left over etc are the most probable cause. I also ban my kids from eating anything in the car to prevent this situation which happened to me many years ago. (But do not use my solution ....cause i sold the whole car in distress...)

Hope you can get it cleared real soon ...

Re: Cockroach in the car!!!

Thanks bros... I was @ Carrefour suntec today so I bought some roach traps (the sticky tape type) and placed two in the car. Hopefully I'll see some victims tomorrow...

Where to get a specialist fog?

Bygone as a repellent... hmmm... that I might try

But to "smokeout" the car with bygone, no no. my life is worth more than a few xiao qiang.

no need spray la.. just put inside & put a label "Nuclear Station"

Re: Cockroach in the car!!!

keep the doors open as short as you can.. and stop eating in the car.. that will solve your long term problem..
how they get in the car is worth investigating but roach needs food to survive they feed on crumbs..

Dear Bro,

from what i understand, these pests do not just reproduce. They multiply ....hence i do not know if the traps will be a long term solution ....

Frankly i do not know where to get specialist help which is why i did what i did (last post) last time. A used car dealer told me that it can be done but he did not tell me where to get it done then. So sorry i cannot help on this ...

I really feel so bad not being able to help you on the specilist fogging as i also always worry my wife will meet with the unfortunate..

Maybe i try to google abit for you in the meantime...

Poison roach food works but after they die, they wil be everywhere unlike sticky type all kana stick on the tray.

Re: Cockroach in the car!!!

but the poison food is for the roach to dabao back to their nest... which is i dunno where... then they all eat the dabao and die there... wahlau damn sick to think that there'll be dead roaches hiding in some corner of my car, under the carpet, in the aircon vents, yuck

Re: Cockroach in the car!!!

Yes and the dead roaches wil be food to the new recruits that invade yr car. I prefer sticky tape type is bcos they can be left there for more than a mth even if some roaches are being caught. Fyi, i have seen roaches traveling frm car to car and that explains y our car got roaches.
