Changing AE bulb

Hi,

Bought a pair of white led bulb to give my AE a new look. Went down to workshop and upon removing the headlamp assembly form the car, my mech found that the wires protector inside are peeling off and drips and bits of the harden peeled off wire protector went inside the headlamp during removal. Hence, my mech took almost 45 mins to insulate the wire and to remove all the harden wire protector bits from inside the headlamp. Finally got my AE changed and happy with the white AE.

My ride is 5 years old and it seems that bmw wires inside the headlamp cannot stand the heat...i wonder why so pls be prepared if you are changing AE lights. Mech says next time wanna change any blub better change the whole headlamp:wtf:
haha...just sharing my experience for bros thinking of changing AE lights...cheers

Thanks for Info.

May I know which brand of bulbs you changed to?

And how much did the bulbs cost?

Thanks!

Re: Changing AE bulb

i got the same experience.. tried to change myself but somehw the oem bulb got stuck.. same thing went to mechanics and its the insulating wire's problem..

gotta be careful not to break those insulating wires while installing also..

Re: Changing AE bulb

yup so i think changing the blub ourself can be a no no if the ride is few years old...just hope that it can last long...
