Thanks to Omar for pointing out to me that I have a CDV. Read abit on it and the question now is ---> Can I remove it totally? Does it really make you look so bad at shifting or is it because your skill really suck? :yikess:

CDV is there so that ur clutch is protected so no matter how fast you shift, the valve slows it down hence Clutch Delay Valve. Most ppl i know have removed it and it does allow much faster shifts. Ask ppl like Barry or those who have converted to manual.

Re: Cdv

Question is whether the valve makes me look like an idiot when the shift is not smooth or whether my skills really suck. Bump for more replies from manual guys

Re: Cdv

Removed mine in the M3. Clutch action felt more direct and quicker.

CDV helps with more consistent shifts but takes away control and ultimate shifting speed.

Downside is that you'd have to learn to drive your car all over again since the clutch timings will be totally different with and without CDV.
