Car interior emitting some smelly fumes

Does anyone have this experience?

Recently, I bought E36 1991 BMW 325iA.

Every time I open the driver's door, the interior of the car starts to emit toxic fumes, maybe emitting from leather seats, plastic parts of the car dashboard and other plastic areas.

It smells like benzene.

To solve this problem, I have to open all the car's doors, and roll down all the windows to give time for the interior to air out, then the smell goes away. But I have to do it every time when I drive the car.

Is there a permanent solution to this problem?

Probably might have to check out your air conditioning and exhaust system...

Since your car is not running, its possible that some coolant or exhaust gases may have seeped into the car interior via the air conditioning system due to the wear and tear of the pipes.

One of the hoses from your fuel tank is loose. Next time pump half tank and see whether theres still any smell the next day
