To each his own.

Having said that, there is a consensual benchmark for aesthetic appeals with regards to variables like symmetry, colour coordination, and the like.

IMHO, no matter how fierce your bimmer may look, there is still a visual limitation to what we can do to our rides. For instance, we would not load up a huge whale spoiler on our trunk, to emulate the Rex's and the Evo's.

My two-cents, bro - Your ride does not suit a cluttered-stickered look. It is a nice "sunshine-look-with-a-chio-bu-besides" cabrio, not a sporty "fierce" or "jio-me-lah" kind of coupe or M3 wannabe. There is an optimal number of product endorsements you could place on your car, but you cannot be overdoing it. Perhaps one on each side is the max.

The other alternative is to go all the way - paint it like a race car (see picture). Have seen few Jap sedans with the entire car painted with sponsors. Unfortunately, some cars are not suitable to do that - cabrio is definitely one category.

That will be a box of McNuggets (20 pieces) from you this Sunday.

Cheers

I think your car decals are quite mild already compared to the photo shown by kenntona. At least its done with class. However, I don't think I'll ever put decals on my car.

Cheers

Thanks bro for the insightful feedback.

I agree cabrio at first glance shouldnt be too "sported up" but with body kit and all oredi "fierce" mah?

Me also seen pictures of cabrios with decals on, esp in the states. I thot it was quite nice..so try try loh.

but I do agree a decal-ed car has its downside - sometimes you just in a quiet mood but the car always looks more awake than you do. haha.

20 nuggets?? I dont mind lah.. but you gotta watch your tummy bro!!!

Hahahahaha

Thanks for the mini compliment. I guess it is not too distasteful. hee hee.
Why do you say you will never put decals on your car?

Is it because in our singapore context, decals and GT-type wing spoilers and body kits and big wheels always imply "Ah-beng-ness"??

Is there a stigma to it?

Shaowen,

I have a neutral opinion on decals.

Your combination as jaskin mentioned, is fairly mild. The white color blends into the skirting and IMO is fairly unnoticable on the steel blue (?) base color.

If they were any bigger and more contrasting, then it may look totally different already, for the worser if not done properly.

At least now, practically the whole forum knows which is your car.. hehehe.. like I did when I saw you at Kampong Arang during servicing!

Cheers.

SMYUEN,

Honestly my bro-in-arms, if I'm driving a chio cab like yours, I would remove all stickers and debadge the car. The only logo I will have are the BMW roundels in front and at the back. That will give it the clean-cut elegant look that is so inherent to an open top ride. To top it all off (puns intended!) I would add a bunch of vavavoom babes all around and take it out for a spin on Orchard Rd on a Saturday afternoon , blasting hip-hop from the ICE!

Let's face it bro..... a cab is made to be showy. So flaunt it lah... and not give people the wrong impression that the only bimmer a doctor can afford nowadays is a sponsored one!!! ;)

Arsony
Topaz Blue NOT showy...

I'd think your kitted ride is quite fierce, but IMO too visually cluttered at certain angle. Perhaps just the row of smaller stickers without the huge AC Schnitzer wordings on the side?

The stickers on their own are not the culprit of visual imbalance. It is the combination that decides the ultimate visual outcome of your ride.

Don't forget the nuggets. I am modding my tummy, so worry not.

 Stickerboy!

Leave those on the skirt and get rid of the big AC sticker.

Hey folks!!

Thank you for all the constructive comments.

Actaully I am deciding between removing everything or leaving behind either the big AC or the small rows... Very hard to decide...

Arsony,

Senior doc. You make good sense indeed. Sponsored car... haha.. you think like my dad. Ok, I shall stop bringing disrepute to our profession by giving people the wrong impression that I use sponsored stuff.

But my heart aches you know, having to remove my painstakingly designed decals.

But I didnt know open top cars are "clean cut"... :)

Puny,
Bro, being easily recognisable is not always a good thing leh.. kekekeke

MRacer77,
Very profound statement indeed....

Ok ... lets see what transpires on sunday!

Thanks once again!

Haha.. modding your tummy! Thats a good one! OK, 20 nuggets on me... see you at macs!

I do agree with your observation cos I noticed it myself - certain angle quite eye-catching, certain angle the decals start to draw too much attention..

You think taking off the big AC and leaving the small row helps? Actually TripleM suggested I do the opposite - that is just leave the AC one..

I am confused.

:screwedu:

Arsony,

Oh I forgot bro.. once I debadge sure kenna push and disturb no end. My observation on many occasions is that some other drivers out there will gun towards me from behind, then for some reason or another (I think it is the 325 badge), they just back off... not that I am any faster than them actually.
What do you think. I hate to be "disturbed" when I am driving.

;)

SMYUEN,

Don't want to be disturb, then get a '330Ci' badge.

HAHAHAHA.. Me not Yam3 or 330 wannabe lah.. My skin not so thick as to put 330! hahaha.. sure kena suan, especially when not even in 330 performance territory just yet! If my dyno had 231 BHP - then I would put 330..

:)

IMO, Do nt debadge if u do nt 1 2 b disturb(as we had discuss tis early at BVO liao). If u 1 2 make ur car fiercer look then remove all stickers except the big ACS n then tint ur headlights(sort of smoke it using the window tinting sticker) In tis way ur car will look more classy, sportier n fiercer!!

Think that people disturb you more if your car is more noticable? I usually disturb people who are full body decals or loud paint jobs... its either you put up or shut up... you know what I mean?

Yuen,
I know it's hard for you not to have decals but since you are one kind of ACS freak, u shud retain them or else you can't sleep all night for 365days then jia-lat and when that happens, no one can help you..

So, keep the side decals...
Rear, keep that AC badge (stick it on the left side if you are not de-badging).
Front, remove that AC badge on the kidney grill, it's blocking the air from comin in :laughlik:

The sideskirt...shud remove em ..I will lend my hand to help ya remove tom at the meet up...

Cheers

Doc, not sure why you have the urge to "re-design" your car but I think it really looks cool..One of the best I've seen on the roads.

IMHO, let it be status quo!

Cheers!
