Nothing constructive actually, just happen to see this thread while in reality it was happening to me. I bought the E34 M5 steering loving it being chunkier and see if it can fit my E36, It doesn't and need some serious mods to adapt. One thing I found out those, it does fit in the E36 car booth till another E34 owner bought it off me.

It's easier when there are no electronics involved. But we're talking about tapping signals fom the gearbox, audio, cruise controls, extra power supply for the lights inside the paddles on the M5 wheel...etc.

Market value is $400-500, depending on condition and age. Anything lower tell them to fly kite.
I'd rather give it away to a friend or even use it for some playstation driving game than to sell at $200...

Have you tried sourcing for the pedals only from the US? Might be cheaper? Go www.realoem.com and email http://www.interautoparts.com/ for a quotation. Or try circle BMW or Pacific BMW.

Well, there ARE people who have the expertise to do it. I will even bet with you it can be done. It's whether you want to spend the time and effort or not.
But I'd rather just fit the E46 one. Simple and straightforward. I fitted my M3 SMG steering wheel myself at my house with a lot of guidance from Subzero and a few tools.
