they work, pay their taxes and they go home when they retire without muttering a word of anti government sentiments.
Now they are treated like unwanted bastard children by the government.
soon the term PR may be abolished and change to 5 year work pass.

I can assure you, SOME PRs will never get their PRs revoked. I seriously don't see that Severin guy or Rogers guy or even that Jackie guy getting their PRs taken away anytime soon!

there is nothing permanent about permanent resident, using the term PR is very misleading.
PR comes with re-entry permit, which needs to be renewed every 5 years, or else you cant enter the country again if you exit.
government usually don't renew them if you are economically redundant or long periods outside Singapore.

i personally know on a HK PR, he bought a HDB resale, rent it out, never stayed in it. After 5 years, sold it, pocket the profits, balak kampung to HK. His PR intention was to profit from it, never the thought of planting his roots here.
