hi bros,

just ordered an e90. thinking of upgrading the rims at pml to 18 inch m star spoke style. think the whole set with tyres cost $6k+. is the $ good ?

most importantly, can the 2 litre engine handle 18 inch? heard that the handling, grip and power will be affected? wonder how bad it would be ... acceptable?

what would be the price for similar replica rims and where can i get them?

look forward to your advice, pl.

Re: Can E90 take 18 inch?

you can definitely have 18s on your E90.

Re: Can E90 take 18 inch?

of course can take 18s but get the right fit/offset...IMO I would not recommend you do your upgrade at PML...its just too expensive, with $6K plus you have very good options elsewhere. Am not sure of replica of the rims you wanted...but most replica rims cost at most $3k +/- for the set depending on brand.

Ride will definitely be harder (with 18 I assume you intend to lower your car?) handling, power etc is just minimal...it will not affect much your daily driving.

Re: Can E90 take 18 inch?

thanks, silver. your car looks great ... what size are the rims? and how is the fc affected in your case? btw, was told that the car looks funny with bigger rims without lowering. could u advise on the options that wouldnt hurt the pocket too much? thanks.

haha thanks..I am running on 18s, fc is ok, not greatly affected (lose approx 15-20km) but well it depends on your driving habits.

Usually most of the guys who mod their rims Will lower their ride, if not it does looks weird IMO...I use Eibach springs only, its good enough (other brand H&R is also good).....OR if you have some $$$ to spare =) hehehe...full suspension upgrade =)

Re: Can E90 take 18 inch?

thanks. how much are eibach springs roughly? would this affect pml warranty? could i check what u mean by losing 15-20km? how many km can u run per litre with 18 inch for your case?

Re: Can E90 take 18 inch?

E90 can take up to 20inch w/o any problems

Yeah Terry...I agree...then TP will stop you and say YOUR RIM TOO BIG! hahahahaha...
Sorry couldn't stay longer with you guys on Friday

But serious, IMC E90 can take 20s.....20s actually do look really nice =)

Eibach will cost between $400-$500? I forgot already..

Warranty will be void if they want to be anal, that I cannot comment it depends.

With stock rims I manage to get approx 430-435km full tank (b4 warning signal)
With my current rims I get approx 410- 415km max. on full tank (b4 warning signal)
This is based on normal driving, light right foot...

If I drive like a mad man....I only manage approx 395km per full tank.
So don't think FC is a really major concern as CBS said...it will be your ride comfort
