Can Anyone recommend a good BMW repair and parts shop?

Hi All,

I have just bought a 1992 E36 320i.. Given it's age (it is in good condition according to VICOM), I still foresee several trips to a good reliable mechanic who knows what they are doing at a fair price!

1) Can anyone here recommend a good mechanic/garage for ongoing servicing/maintenance/repairs?

2) Are there any good suppliers of either reconditioned or 2nd hand BMW parts (including things like interior consoles, etc)?
(I mention the interior parts specifically because I want to replace one or 2 small items in the interior which are in pretty poor condition!)

Would really appreciate any advice anyone here can give me.

Thanks a lot!

Prash

PS. Note to admin : apologies if this is in the wrong forum section - didn't know where else to put this!

Go look for Amos from "Juzz for cars"...

One word to describe....

Good and very reliable as far as I am concern...

As for the pricing wise, I am not in any capacity to comment.

Hope it helps.

Cheers!

Thanks TLL... Will check out for sure. :)

I also found a place within this site that has a bunch of repairers/workshops... but is always good to go from personal recommendations.

Cheers!

My personal experience at BM Workshop at Bukit Merah has been great.

Price may be a tad higher than certain other workshops but you get almost PML kind of expertise ata huge discount.

Eagle - cheers for the advice.

Ersalle
Am interested in the chop shops in JB? Do you know of any in particular (or an area where they are together) ?
Also, are they cheaper than shops like Propel (which is in Singapore right?)
(ie. is it worthwhile going over the border for parts).

Thanks for the advice guys...all very helpful info.

Cheers
Prash.

Re: Can Anyone recommend a good BMW repair and parts shop?

At the moment now Prash, not really sure if there are other chop shops in sg which are as big as PROPEL in terms of mass breakdown parts. I can lead u to one area in JB which is in TAMAN UNGKU TUN AMINAH area, but still ends up to PROPEL sister shop which is KEK SENG autoparts there. Of course its worthwile getting used parts across the border since the rate is still SGD$1=RM2.27 currently. And also take an example i ask for a quote on an engine, propel quote me a used engine for SGD1400 where as the sister shop quoted me RM1900. Think about it. And also take note, if you want to get new parts, it is hell cheaper to get it in singapore, don't ever buy new parts from spare parts shop in m'sia unless its emergency. If you want cheap maintainence, get the parts in singapore and get it done in JB, labour costs is cheap, very cheap heheheheh. More chop shops also for BMW's if you go up to KL area. By the way its best you call propel 1st and ask for the items you want and then scout around JB area and ask the price for same item you want and make a comparison. Oh yeah i think on the 22nd May, Gwumpkus is going to JB to look for parts too, if u interested try pm him.
