Re: Buying from PML and PI - What's the difference?

I would think that the chief difference is goodwill. Some goodwill at least.

You go to the PI with a broken transmission. they might blame you for downshift wrongly etc. talk a lot of bs.

You go to PM with a broken transmission, they might be easier on you.

You have a PI car go to PM with a broken transmission, they may ask you to pay for it first while BMW AG approves the warranty, then they refund you. If BMW AG does not approve, then you may need to go to court to get recourse from the PI.

There you go.

I am NOT in favour of non-specialist PI. That being said, some people intend to build a good, established business around certain cars which they know that they can specialise in. They're OK and might be better than the authorised distributor - eg. Auto Concepts. But strike it rich with every marque available type of PI, one might experience a serious backlash.

Ordered already. But almost 2 months backlog. Sat in an e92 with the procede installed in Singapore. You can hardly breathe with the turbo kicking in and getting progressive build up all the way to 7000 rpm. Not like stock where it dies off after 5800rpm. I saw the guys dyno briefly. He was doing 382hp/507nm at crank. And with the V2 expect it to increase to 400 odd ponies with torque remaining more or less the same. Visnu is limiting the torque to keep the transmission within acceptable tolerances. Seriousy, during the course of time i was in the car, i can easily say you can makan alot of cars on the road because of the torque. It just fukn pulls man...Well. Physicist, for you, it may not really be a problem as manual transmissions normally have more tolerance BUT alot of ppl in US are wearing out their clutches real fast due to the fact that they also removed the CDV. And these guys just launch and launch and launch.

Gearbox can take it. The system limits the torque to keep it within acceptable tolerances. Stock brakes honestly are still good enough but not good enough for track. Tires ok for me, no problem running at 235/265.
