Buying E92-325Ci from PML - First timer

Hello,

Tested the E92 325Ci 2 days ago and was quoted $188k for the car. After some chatting, the sales man revealed that he recently sold a unit for $185k and if I'm really interested, it can even go down lower if I register before year end. I wasn't exactly impressed because I got a lot more discount from my recent purchase of a Japanese brand car which cost like only 1/3 or the E92 325Ci. The sales man told me to name my price and will discuss with his manager.

Can someone advice how much lower will they be willing to go? Especially to those bro/sis that have bought the E92 Coupe recently. Thanks in advance.

Also, anyone can advice if the Hi-Fi option that cost about $2900, worth it? Can I improve the sound system through other Audio-shop without causing any warranty problems?

taking into consideration that this is dec, a lot of sales need to meet their year end targets. good time to negotiate for better deal. as for how much, really depends on how desperate is the sales.

may be you can request to meet the "most desperate" sales. i am sure he/she will rather for go his comm just to meet target.

I reckon PML makes like $50k selling this car? I will start with $175k take or leave. I reckon getting at $180k shld be no problem. I was there too today n they seem to be a bit like desperado leh

I think u are referring to logic-7 hifi.....its suppose to be good n factory fitted.

Heard that they are struggling to meet or beat Merc numbers in terms of cars sold in 2006, that's why getting desperate.

Don't think they will sell to me at $175k unless I've bought from them before. OK, I shall try $180k to see if they will throw me out of the showroom.

actually i tend to agree with ABD. $175k is about $13k off list price, which is not impossible. thot its always better to start low since they'll sure work it up. if you start $180k, it wld probably be $183 when you sign.

dont think Merc could beat bimmer's about 600 cars advantage over them, not with only 2 weeks before end of year...

If that's the case, I don't have any bargaining power :(

I suppose it depends if you are buying a second/third/fourth BMW in the family, the amount of loan you're taking etc..and of course, your patience..:juggle:

Re: Buying E92-325Ci from PML - First timer

As for $2,900 for factory hifi option, it's really up to you - no demo set in any of the coupes?

Personally, $2900 can get you a pretty decent aftermarket setup.

Re: Buying E92-325Ci from PML - First timer

bro,

i think the factory hi-fi thingy really depends on whether you are an audiophile or not- if you are, you have better options out there. Also, do you prefer the stock look without anyone messing ard with your car- if yes, then factory option is the way to go.

As for the bargaining, don't be shy lah, you owe it to yourself to drive a hard bargain with your hard earn!

cheers,

Yes I'm aware that $2900 can get you pretty good stuff outside. But I'm wondering if it will void my warranty if I install aftermarket hifi components?

PML do not engage into Bargaining process, my view

Re: Buying E92-325Ci from PML - First timer

Yeah, they 'don't sell based on price' (as quoted by SE)

bro, you mentioned "Quite alot" as in "$5k to 10k" price difference?:woowooo:

Re: Buying E92-325Ci from PML - First timer

The amount of "discounts" also depend on the buyer, alot can mean different things to different people

Re: Buying E92-325Ci from PML - First timer

I think It also depends which model you buy. If you buy 320i, 323i or 523i now, the price can vary quite a fair bit.

well, i did not say "quite alot" but "quite a bit"...i would think as long as you have gave the SE a tough fight for his comm, i would think you have done your job. on my previous honda, i was already getting like a few k discount (excl cash backs), what with a bimmer? alto not an apple to apple comparison but surely the discount must at least be more in dollar terms right? i mean the price of the bimmer is at least 30+/ 40+ over a honda...

Re: Buying E92-325Ci from PML - First timer

I think it is an apples to orange comparison if you compare PML to a Japanese distributor. PML would think of the implication on subsequent sales - esp with forums like this around. They also wouldn't want the SEs to run around cheapening the brand. But if you really succeed in getting a good discount, please tell us!!!!
