Was shopping for rims for my E60 and came across these 2 rims:

Breytong GTS

Vertini Riviera-S:
http://www.vertiniwheels.com/images/wheels/riviera/riviera.html

Anyone has any info on these wheels? Are they good?

I was told that for new Breyton models, they all need spacers. Are spacers reliable?

Thanks in advacne!

I saw one black Breyton GT not S at Leong Seng few wks back , maybe u can check em out

They are strong rims but quite heavy.....

Re: Breyton GTS and Vertini Riviera-S

Any comments on the Vertini rims? They look good also, and price is good. I'm just concerned on the quality.

I'm on Breyton GTS Racing, staggered! See my avatar! They are good but not very light (but better than stock obviously)
Don't like spacers - so this model fits nicely on my FL E90 320i.

Done mine at Ray-S Sports Rim (Tel: 63422328 ) - look for boss Raymond.
Tell him 6888 - he'll take care of you! :)

Check out the local prices then Tirerack prices from the US. Might be cheaper getting it from the States.

Tirerack should indeed e cheaper, but after adding the freight and all the hassle it might not be worth it.

Hey I went to the same shop as well!

Raymond told me that the new Breyton rims are common size now. For 3 series dont need spacers, for 5,6,7 need to put spacers. Eibach spacers are included in the package price. Actually I like the GTS look, but don't feel good using spacers. Any expert advice here on the spacers?

The Vertini rims are also very nice. But I'm really not sure about the quality. Any comments from anyone?

typically for the same size of wheels, the OEM ones are heavier..

some Breyton wheels are made by BBS like the Flame but not sure bout this GT/GTS

Spacers are ok to use so long they are hub centric

But I m not in favour of putting fat spacers, max 12mm I'd go

The reason why spacers are needed in this case is obviously becoz of the rims fitment were made for one that fits all...save production cost basically.

Dont know how much u hv been quoted for those wheels anyway
Hv u ever thot of perhaps getting a customized wheels like DPE ?

If I'm not wrong, the spacer size that they told me should be more than 12mm.

I did a quick search on tirerack, GT is made in Italy and GTS is made in Tiong Kok!!!

Was quoted about 5k for the GTS and below 4k for the Vertini, including tires, and including spacers for the GTS. Good price??

Re: Breyton GTS and Vertini Riviera-S

Called Raymond and he advise 19inch for E90 cost about S$500 a piece as Breyton rims are now made in China

Staggered with spacers (Eibach from Germany) - total S$4000 - S$5000 depending on tyres

That seems very reasonable.

Re: Breyton GTS and Vertini Riviera-S

I like the Vertini because of very deep dish and lower price (of course!). But still worried about the quality. Anyone tried Vertini before?? Or are they just another 'replica' rims??

Re: Breyton GTS and Vertini Riviera-S

May i ask what are the cons in using spacers? I am thinking of getting the breyton GT for my E60 and was told that spacers would be needed. Thought as spacers was something normal but it seems that you guys are no comfortable in using it. Just want to find out more what are the cons of it. Thanks. :)

Re: Breyton GTS and Vertini Riviera-S

well
when u put a spacer for something that isnt supposed to, u r basically extending the wheels out from the wheel mounting hub nearer to the fender..
that increases stress on the wheel bearing. For small spacers and a car that isnt so hyppo in size , it seems ok...

AutoArt wheels are made in China too

Dont ya love China...? :)

Re: Breyton GTS and Vertini Riviera-S

Frankly nowadays almost everything around us is made in china, so it is quite 'normal' to find out that the rims are from there.

I'm not against made in prc products, just that I'm concerned on the quality control etc etc and would like to hear some feedback from the forummers here. Anyway think I'll give the GTS a miss because spacers are required.

Thanks TripleM for the good advice!
