Hi!
Anyone knows if there are Brembo brake kits available for the Z4 that fit in the 17" rims.

Thanks.

Don know what's ur intention for the upgrade but usually for Brembo or AP, they are 6 pots and will need a 18" to fit...

If u r not intending to change rims from 17", then getting the Z4 3.0L brakes might be a better choice... since the Z4 3.0L uses the same rear brake as the Z4 2.5L

Thanks for the advice. In other words, I should just switch out the front brakes?

I must admit that the main reason that I would think about changing my brakes to the Brembo ones are the super chio Brembo brake calipers (especially in red).

But, how much better are the Brembo brakes over stock ones har? These Brembo brakes are not cheap! Those Evo MR owners get the Brembo brakes factory fitted somemore. Lucky bastids! :)

Ok, just checked, pls confirm this yourself....

Apparently, the Z4 2.5L is on solid disc at the rear :screwedu: :screwedu:

If that os correct, then what u will need is to change the caliper together with the housing for the front and of course the disc rotor..

For the rear, the caliper is the same but since the disc is solid, u need a caliper carrier to house a bigger and thicker rotor....

Sounds like a big job... so i don know if u find it worthwhile or not but the plus point over BBK is that, they will never run out of stock as these can be bought over PML counters...

But in terms of braking wise, it will be a lot better !

Just found the brake disc sizes.
2.5i - Ventilated front discs of 286-mm/11.3-in. diameter; solid rear discs of 280-mm/11.0-in. diameter.
3.0i - Ventilated front discs of 300-mm/11.8-in. diameter; ventilated rear discs of 294-mm/11.6-in. diameter.

Also, a 320mm Brembo brake kit (1F1.6001A same as E46) will very likely fit in a 17" rim.

yes, if you want to go for over the shelf brembo kits, only 320mm can fit 17". the next step at 355mm you need 18" and only certain rims
