Bootlid Spoiler

I'm still in two minds about this and thought I'd get some views.

I'm thinking of getting a bootlid spoiler for my E60 but wondering if it would look funny since my car doesn't have any mods i.e. no bodykit other than the stock version. Only thing I did is to fix
19" rims. I suppose adding a bootlid spoiler might improve the aesthetics slightly.

Any idea how much it would cost and where is the cheapest?

Re: Bootlid Spoiler

I would think it'll look better without it. As you said, your car body is stock so what is a spoiler doing there!!:)

Totally agreed.....STOCK best.
Better spend on better grade engine oil ............

Re: Bootlid Spoiler

Problem is, I changed out of the stock rims and put in 19" rims which I'm very happy with and they look nice. It does look a bit sporty now rather than fully stock.

Whenever, I look around, I start to get a bit itchy. Maybe I should add this .... Maybe I should add that... Maybe I should do this ... Maybe I should do that. Also this forum quite infectious ... mod virus.

hello highbury.

go with your heart.
nothing wrong with having the spoiler except that it will start your mod craze if you re not careful.
bootlid can get replicas from Benzline, less than $200 for e60.

Hi Dash,
Ya, my heart says go for sporty look - cool image
Then my head says better maintain a professional executive stock image.
So i'm trying to find a compromise and balance between the two.

I did see a fellow white E60 with a bootlid spoiler and stock rims. Looked quite ok.
Anyway, I don't plan to mod the engine. Just the occasional cosmetic things here and there to satisfy itchy cravings that arise from time to time (unless kena seriously infected by mod virus)

The Benzline replica sound quite ok for $200. Will consider it. Thks

Re: Bootlid Spoiler

I'm not sure how it will look on e60, but my e90 only has 19" rims and bootlid spoilers. In my opinion this is simple and clean enough.
If u want ur car to look pro and clean, this is enough. If u want more, then go all the way, Dash say one.
Anyway this is subjective. Follow ur heart.

Yup, this is what I was thinking. Simple clean sporty look. without looking like a racer. My ride not very powerful lah! The thing about the BMW spoilers is that they are not very big or loud like some other makes.

The bootlid spoiler is optional and doesn't cost too much. The major change was the 19"rims. That changed the normal stock look of the car to a more sporty one. Enjoy looking at the rims ... kinda of like having a nice pair of shoes.

Re: Bootlid Spoiler

Robot, been meaning to ask u, your e90 have passenger like the one in your avatar? :)

Sorry for OT, dash's fault.

Re: Bootlid Spoiler

I actually called Benzline and the said the spoiler is $300. Thats just for the spoiler and I gotta get someone to fix it. Any recommendations of any shop that can spray colour and fix it and estimated cost?

C3PO and Dash avatar quite sexy

Benzline play punk.
One fellow forummer(looks fierce like gangster) got it for 100+ w/o installation and paint.
Now 300? Inflation?!

When u intend to buy? I ask that forum fren come along . I also wanna buy too, btw.

Oh, the pic on avatar was 3CPO's avatar gal, her back.

Re: Bootlid Spoiler

can try Angie aka Yew Lip aka 张惠妹. Leave ur spoiler there until she is done with spraying (may take some time), then go back to install. Cost is reasonable.

Cheers,
3CP0, Dash say one
