BOOT / TRUNK Cannot Open...

Sharing session:

Boot cannot open with remote, boot lever and in-car boot release button.

Tho' can open with key manually... but cannot close after...

SOLUTION (by chance via youtube n google);

Wiring is breaking... due to the opening and closing of boot as the wire is constantly bending at the boot hinge..

See picture... so i re-attached that brown wire n Wha-Laa! Boot function is back again!

I had same problem. I started by replacing the lock, without any remedy. I was lucky to have another e60 where I could swap part to test first, to ensure identifying the faulty part. This is a known common problem with e60's. Great action for sharing.
