Booking a car at PML

Following kntpl thread on SE attitude, below is my experience and i hoped bro/sis here could advise....

1) Booked my car with Mr. A - Everyone happy
2) Mr. A needs to go away for a few days and referred my insurance matters to Mr. B. Mr. B is very helpful.
3) Mr. A came back, brought a bunch of document to be workplace for my signature and asked for my physical IC. After giving it to him, i became worried and wonder what would happen.
4) The next day, Mr. A agreed to write me an indemnity letter. I follow-up with a call to another SE at a different branch and was told this was common practice.
5) Received a receipt in my mailer and it indicates that Mr. C is my SE. (??!!). I then called up Mr. C for a clarification and was told they work as a team. And because Mr. A needs to go away and therefore put his name down as my SE.
6) Mr. A informed me that my car collection day has been postponed to next week due to the late delivery of my rims.
7) After a week, i was told on the collection day (today) that the rims are still not ready. Have to collect it in two days.

Any comment is welcome.

Re: Booking a car at PML

understand your excited to get your new car.. SE are always like tat.. wait here wait there

Re: Booking a car at PML

The main points which i like to raise was the collection of my IC and the name of the SE was not on the receipt. Things are just not transparent even at such a big house. Where is the proper compliance or the respective audit requirements?

Re: Booking a car at PML

I hope PML lose their distributorship. Seriously incompetent retards working there.

Re: Booking a car at PML

just get with his boss (the sales manager or director) and tell him by hook by crook you want the car delivered today. Get some @ss to expedite and fly in the rims instead of on slow boat.
you will get the truth why the delay... someone in the part department is sitting on it @ss.

as to the IC thing.. that is weird but they represent PML so chances of funny punny probably less.

Re: Booking a car at PML

May I suggest 2 options for yr kind consideration.

option 1 - aka Kenntona's way. Go to PML on Z4 launch(this Fri) and bang table/kick chairs/spit saliva/etc in front of the crowd.

option 2 - aka my civilised Beng way. Ok I know u are the civilised type too. The SEs are a team under a manager. Contact the manager and said those SEs of his have been passing u around from one to another like as if u are a prostitute. Use some 4-letter words.

Sometimes I find that PML staff are either:
- lacking in service quality, and/or
- poorly trained.

A pretty friendly CSA last attended to me n told me I cannot claim a part that was damaged on my car. I said it was rediculous n he agreed, even suggest I write in to his manager. 15 mins later called me back n said that part is covered under warranty:huhhuh: :p

Re: Booking a car at PML

my experience with PML SE was i do all the follow ups calling them forthnightly. the only times that i receive call/sms from the SE were

a. bring your cheque book down to do settlement (no settlement we will not proceed to register your car)
b. give you very short notice to collect the car (after many many chasing)

Based on several messages in the forum, looks like those with 7 series are happiest!

Perhaps, their pre-sales service is sterling?

Re: Booking a car at PML

just want to share my experience

when I booked my 5 - I specified 18 inch rims in the contract

when car was ready for delivery - it was on 17 ( was informed by my SE 2 days beforehand that the 18 that I wanted only available about 2 weeks later)

Took delivery of the car and made the swap 2 weeks later

I would:whipper: them if they delay delivery over such an issue

Re: Booking a car at PML

I was offered the option of taking delivery of the car and then swap the 18" in two weeks as well. This was said BEFORE I signed on the dotted line. Story just changed afterwards and I can't do it now.

Re: Booking a car at PML

My SE took my IC too, but i get him to sign a photocopy of my IC stated down his full name & IC number acknowledging that he has taken my original IC.

When I make the booking from him, I asked him when they can deliver my car and I get him to write down the date on the document :)

Hi I keep posting a couple of days then let go of the past burden and get the deal going again. Now looking forward to collecting my ride in 2 days' time and was given improved service. If I am in your shoes, I will collect the car and drive back 2 days later to change the wheels

Re: Booking a car at PML

always and proven ..... squeaky ones get the oil!
make hell and you be served better! i guess that local bimmer motto... hahaha!

Re: Booking a car at PML

Seriously speaking, how many of you are repeat customer?? If just few of you, maybe it could explain why things change direction having signed on dotted line..

another thing is i compared the SE a few years ago v.s. current SE..the former is so much more professional..really made me feel like BMW and PML are premium brands..

since their service and attitude have been below par IMHO, i rather go for better pricing and cost effective servicing/repair..which some other companies seem to be able to meet this criteria..

Go to PML on Z4 launch(this Fri)

My SE's says it's by invitation only. Anyone got the invitation? Can post details? Wonder whether can go look-see.
