BMW X1 2012 year of make

Hi
I have a BMW X1 2012 make and sometimes when I press the start button the car does not start! I have to then wait for 3 to 5 minutes then it will start! Any idea what this problem is?

Have you never used the car for a couple of days? If yes, it can happen. I do start and stop for 3mins if i dont use the car for more than 3 days.
