BMW steering wheel with F1 gear shifts

Because I don't want to live with the SMG in an everyday car. The auto is still way smoother.

Isn't there a paddle shift set for the Z4 out already? If there is, i assume that it would be the same as the e46s, right?

Its just a neat/cool feature that u can change gears ala Formula 1 style, instead of moving the steptronic gear up or down. Add more fun to your driving!

Azrielsc,

The paddle shift set is ripped off the Z4 SMG steering wheel. It is the normal push/pull type paddle instead of the left/right. I've come to realise that it is not worth the money because I managed quite well just bumping the stick forwards on Sepang.

So my question is:

1) do we need M3 steering wheel in order to fit the pedals?
2) PML cost around S$1.5K for both wheel and pedals?
3) Can I get from Eng Soon or Frankurt instead of PML (usually more expensive)
4) Mine is not M3 steering wheel . It is the 3 spokes one with stereo channel + volume adjustment, cruise control and the useless telephone control. Can the pedals fit this steering wheel?

Tanzy,

perhaps u're right. although i still think that the transplanted SMG II would be...

galant1688,

sorry abt hijacking your thread.

the paddles cost around 450 a piece just in case u guys not aware ok..

I enquired the last time when i wanted to get entrepuener...

Also, getting the paddles is only part one of the mod... cos u need to change the steering column as well to be able to hold the switch for the paddles, that is part 2 and finally, u need to tap extra wire from the steptronic and parallel them to the steering column to make it work...
