SINGAPORE – For the first time ever, BMW is the leading premium car brand in Singapore.
The brand has established a decisive lead over the competition in 2005 with 3458 cars sold. This is an increase of 18 percent compared to 2004. At the same time, a total of 165 MINI cars were sold in 2005.
Launched in May last year, a total of 561 units of the new generation 7 Series were sold, in the process becoming once again – for the fourth consecutive year in Singapore - the segment leader.
Revisions to the 5 Series, including a new line of 6-cylinder engines and some interior trim changes, saw it become a runaway sales success, clocking 1334 units.
The new BMW 3 Series continued the successful trend: previewed in late March and launched to the public in mid-April 2005, sales of the new model flowed quickly, with 1123 sold....
