Have been deciding very long between BMW 335 and Porsche Cayman and have yet to come down to any decision. Recently been checking out the PI's 335 and cayman. Found out that Lay Auto have a very good pricing for their cayman. Selling at $238k with COE without loan. Comes with Full leather (Blue) Electric Seat, BOSE, Bi-Xenon, Original Tinted Glass, Tiptronic S, OMV is about 67k - 75k. If i were to take up loan still can discount more....delivery 2 days after loan approval...it sound like a too good to be true deal to me....need advise, anyone can help me to make a right choice?

Re: BMW or Porsche?

if you must have Auto gearbox, I think that the 335 will be more to your taste.

Cayman NECESSARY options are: PASM, Sport Chrono. Without these, the car is severely compromised.

Straightline speed: 335 kills cayman

Corners: cayman kills 335, even modified one. weight is weight, balance is balance.

Involvement: cayman may be too involving, too noisy. But for the person who's looking for the involvement, cayman wins.

steering - cayman steering is so full of feel, the 335 utterly dies. conversely, you may not want such weight in the steering.

suspension - cayman rides HARD without PASM, with PASM it is still harder than 335 in normal, MUCH HARDER than 335 in sport mode. It's so hard that in bad rutted roads, corners, the cayman may be skittish requiring countersteer, where the 335 will just understeer for you with good suspension compliance.

Comfort in highway: 335 is incomparable! It pwns the Cayman.

Comfort in aggressive driving: with nice holding stock seats, the cayman beats the 335 in lateral support.

I find the price @ 238K for Cayman is NOT good, because the Bixenon is not really necessary, the stock projector headlights is plenty good.

Auto trans - the cayman autotrans cannot hold a candle to the excellent ZF 6-speed in the 335. It didn't matter to me coz I took the 6-speed manual.

Re: BMW or Porsche?

i gotta take the auto trans because my wife wants to drive the car as well. And she obviously cant handle manual car...lolx...actually if i can, i would have wanted the cayman with PASM and Sport Chrono. But couldn't find any stock that suits me in sg. Customization of my own options need 4 months to deliver.

Re: BMW or Porsche?

don't compromise on PASM at least.

you can never find invisible expensive options like PASM on PI cars or even cars which are in stock. If you can WAIT for it, it's worth.

Re: BMW or Porsche?

There's also the number of seats to consider....for me this time, it was the deciding factor

Re: BMW or Porsche?
