BMW OEM Brake Rotors

The OEM brake rotors are almost half the price of Original BMW brake rotors, ie $70 vs $150 per rotor. Brand would be like Zimmerman or BOSCH. What do you think of the quality of these OEM vs the original? Is it worth the savings but the quality is not as good as original BMW? These OEM manufacturers are still German huge auto manufacturers and not some small taiwanese or chinese knock offs.....But your feedback would be good.

Thanks.

IMHO, might as well change to Brembo rotor. Brembo produced stock size & it is lighter.

Who carries Brembo rotors for the E66 7 series? Thanks.

I think local distributor is Lintrak.

Re: BMW OEM Brake Rotors

Thanks. I called Lintrax but they said they only sell direct to distributors but none of them sell Brembo which I can find.

Anyway what I wanted to know was if the Original Equipment rotors, which is almost double in price, are actually better than the OEM ones made by Bosch, Zimmerman, and LMI. Both the sales guys from the BMW stockist claim that the OE ones are more expensive due to better heat and should be more lasting and kept justifying that the price is almost double hence it must be better else it won't be priced that much. But I really choose to believe that the OEM, being such huge manufacturers, can't possibly just sell something inferior. I think it should be very close, if not exactly the same, as OE. Just wanted to hear if there are conflicting views. Thanks.

Re: BMW OEM Brake Rotors

I think oem parts are good value for money. These big companies make quality products which are used all over the world

Hi bro, did you manage to change your rotor? Can PM me how much you spend on it? Thanks.

Re: BMW OEM Brake Rotors

Those Brands like Zimmerman, Centric, Rotora, Stoptech which offer direct replacement to your rotors are proven products used by people all ard the globe.
So they are reliable.

Re: BMW OEM Brake Rotors

I replaced mine but on one occasion I wanted to try make a warranty claim at Munich. Guess what! The boss very yah yah, tell me he will not entertain my warranty claim unless I changed out my rotors, brake pads and sensors.

I went back to PML, endure the long wait and claimed warranty successfully.
