BMW OEM brake fluid

hi guys,

anyone knows which brake fluid BMW puts into our rides from the factory? as in brand, spec and even colour...

i may need to go for warranty claim for both DSC & ABS and my CSA advised me to go in with stock fluid...

any idea if the dot 5 fluid BVO uses is 5 or 5.1 and if the colour is different from OEM?

Nobody uses Dot 5 fluid in cars. It's only meant for trucks and heavy duty vehicles. If it's Dot 5 in a car, it will be Dot 5.1. Cars only use Dot 4 or 5.1. As far as I know, I can't tell the difference in Castrol SLF, Ferodo, Agip, AP, Brembo, BMW, HKS brake fluid by sight.

dunno... he mentioned that some dot 5.1 are green or blue in colour, which is different from OEM and actually stains the brake fluid reservoir and corrodes the brake lines...
