BMW M3 GTS vs. Porsche 911 GT3 RS by AutoBild

AutoBild performed a comparison driving between the new BMW M3 GTS and Porsche’s 911 GT3 RS.

The first thing that the author noticed about the BMW M3 GTS is it's aggressive Fire Orange paint and an impressive 8,000 rpm redline. The steering response was superb even without electronic assistance.

The Porsche on the other hand has aggressive exterior elements such as a front spoiler, stationary rear wing, the 19" wheels. It's 9000 euro worth of ceramic brake system provided great braking performance to Porsche's star.

The verdict? The BMW M3 GTS is larger, heavier, and more difficult to handle during acceleration and braking through the corners. It's 450 hp was quite lacking for the 1538 kg curb weight. Porsche is lighter with just 1400 kg at 450 hp and accelerates from standstill to 100 km/hr in 3.7 seconds. The BMW M3 GTS makes that in 4.6 seconds. On a per hour measure, the gap increases to 2.0 seconds.

the m3 gts is only .2 or 3 secs faster than a stock e92 m3 so wats the point of it? modifying an M3 is still way cheaper than this gts...

of coz when it comes to mods , sky is the limit

i'd like to believe that is pointless but after driving light weight cars, I know why we pay MORE for LESS!

that GTS pulls bout 20secs from regular M3 in the Ring....that is mega huge gap.

having said that, it is almost pointless to buy this GTS when it's priced similar to base GT3
no brainer if u can driver a manual car..

not out yet officially...but here's my deduction..not anyhow one....but got logic one
M3 CSL was 7.50

GTS is built to rival Porsche GT3, the latter Mk2 version clocked 7.40 so
It makes sense that the GTS is definitely faster than the CSL but close enough to compete with the GT3

And the regular M3, current model, clocked 8.05

So easily 20 seconds ...

Having said that, the RS Mk2 as shown above clocked 7.33
no way the GTS can match that.
