BMW m3 gts or Porsche gt3/rs

What do you guys think?
The GTS is 550k and hand built but Porsche has the pedigree in this class.
Prices are quite similar.
Thoughts?

the GT3 is similar pricing to GTS i believe but the RS is another 100k more

if u can drive manual well, GT3 for sure...no brainer
If u can't then GTS, probably the next best track focus car.

hmm.. after looking through my price list.. the GT3 RS is lower than the said M3 GTS price

Good to know it's lower than the GTS

But then again, that 550k for GTS was compared with the AD price of the GT3 rite?
So for AD's RS shud be 100k higher roughly

But the collectibility of the car seeing that only 150 will be hand made will surely see better residual values?

Ha...nothing is really quite collectible yet in BMW cars...i think. Porsche is still in a league of its own. 993 GT2 for eg, is so sought after that a good condition one in UK could be asking for the price of a new 997.

Look at CSL, priced also dropped like crazy in the first few years. I recalled new was 420k and 2yrs later it was transacted ard 300k.

If u r talking bout residual values, might as well wait till u buy a second hand one and then buy it and keep it forever...at least you won't get hit so badly..

Not saying that the RS wont lose value but history as proven that P car of certain models can be a good collector car. Regular GT3 wont be, but the RS and GT2 will be to name a few..

I really think that a car being elevated to collector status will have to wait for 2 things:

1) Production run out

2) Some fundamental change in the design

That's why the 993 (select models) was elevated to that status.

was speaking to one of the M people at the showroom launch... seems the M3 GTS 'nur' timing during development is very very promising, will be interesting to see what it is. 5 units allocated to SG, all spoken for

I feel one overriding factor will decide what you like more in terms of drive experience and faster lap times. M3 GTS DCT or GT3 RS manual?
