Hello all Hia-Dee/Hia-Buay, there is a question I ve been wanting to ask for sometime.
When I park my car after a long drive home, I usually find the engine/bonnet/front wheels very hot, much hotter than previous cars I have owned. Even my neighbour can smell it if hes in the garden
Why? Is it bcos the BMW was made to drive fast on the AUTOBAHN and therefore on our SG streets when we drive too 'SLOW to EASY-SINGAPORE DRIFT' style, there isnt enough cold-air to cool the engine system down? I realised when I was driving 160km/hr up north last week, the car wasnt much hotter or that hot when I stopped at a petrol kiosk.
These days after I parked my car, I would lift open the bonnet to give it a faster cool down. Part of reason why I do this is also to cool down the bonnet faster in case the heat damage the Paint protection system n dulls the colour/shine. Is this correct thing to do?
Also, sometimes after an especially aggressive drive home, the car engine which is very hot gives off this "tok tok tok" sound every few seconds until it cools down sufficiently.
Does my car need to see a DOCTOR?
