BMW E90 coupe?!?!

Hmm, the E90 coupe pics are still hiding in their secret vault in germany....

hahaha

but rest assured it will come out a few months(or issit 1 year) after the E90 Sedans hit the road.

I happened to meet Shahjahan (one of the BMW trainers) at PML today. He mentioned that he will be in Germany for 2 weeks in Oct to learn more about the M5 - that includes test drives, etc.

I mentioned about the E90 and he said that the sedan will be out this time next year. Also said that there will be a preview (of the E90) for them in Germany - wow the car is already ready???

Now for the coupe. It is not scheduled to be launched internationally till maybe 1.5 to 2 years from the intro of the E90. So thats it guys; a 2.5 to 3 year wait for the coupe. Coincidentally the current coupe will not be discontinued until end 2006.

Hmm.. interesting schedule. I thought the launches of the coupe and cabrio would be 1 year and then 2 years after the sedan respectively. Looks like they are trying to stretch the shelf-life of the facelifted coupe and cabs by another year or two. Not surprising actually considering the fact that the few engineering tweaks to the FL coupes and cabs actually put them quite on par with the competition. Read a couple of review comparing the bimmers with newer competition.. general feeling is that the E46 may be old but still more than give its rivals a run for their money. hehe.

I think the E90 coupes/cabs will be quite stunning. Hmmm. that means the cab will be some 3.5 to 4 years from now!?!?! Thats a long time man..

the even number naming for the 2-door bimmers have been in and out of every publication speculating about its nomenclature... Nobody really knows I guess!!!

I actually cheekily asked him to bring back some "memories". He got what I meant and retorted that cameras and camera phones are strictly forbidden. He guestimates the price of the M5 to be at least SGD 500,000.00. I checked and it is sold in Europe @ EURO 86,000.00, so that figure is not far wrong.

He did mention though that the E90 actually looks like a compacted E60. Thats what I know so far. BTW, if you loog on to the bmw545.com page, you'll be redirected to a new website. Find it very informative; and they also have some forums going on there; mostly American & European.
