Both cars drives different leh...
E46 although is suppose to be a sport sedan, it really doesn't give you the sporty feel in the Alfa.
Alfa handles and sound way sportier than the e46...
but in terms of comfort level, E46 wins by miles, if you want my personal opinion.
If i were you, i will get the E46.... alfa's depreciation is slightly better than chery and that matters a lot to me...

e46 318 and 320 both abt the same speed except the 320 being a 6 pot sounds way better than 318 4 pot. comfort is top notch in a stock e46. and modification parts are easily available in e46 than a 156.
i would go for e46....

Alfa 156 has built quality issues and resale is quite poor (means that you may get good deal)
E46 has a much better quality esp interior, and demand is strong (can sell on later easily)
JTS is a very nice sonorous engine and feels more powerful compared with 2.0 valvetronic. But 2.2 I6 wins hands down.
Driving wise E46 handles like a pearl... would recommend E46 320i for the engine, ride, and good long term value

Er.....How the hell does an Alfa handle better than a BMW. We''ll not even talking about a 3.2l GTA here......
Sorry....It's not because of this being a BMW forum but just speaking from experience of driving both cars to the limit b4........RWD vs FWD got difference lah....
But I must say Alfa and Honda produces the best FWD handling cars around. Type R for example esp DC5 and Civic Rs....wah!!!!!!!!!! Steady man!
BTW, I tried my fren's 156 GTA before....must learn very hard to handle the car....because major TORQUE STEER man!
E46 still rocks....and I am sure Shameless can put a 156 to shame with his ex-318 at sepang....TIO BOH brudder???

seriously, i have never driven a 156 B 4 but i'm sure the 156 is faster off the line... but the e46 will smoke 156 back when it comes to corners or bends....
i never like the torque steer of a car be it track or street. it sucks! at sepang, i would say the e46 318 might take on the 156 becos of more reliabilty in its handling....hee
so brudder.....when yr 335 coming?
