Bilstein B8 or Koni FSD

Guys,

I am looking at changing my stock shocks and springs for my E90 and I have the 2 options below:

1) Eibach springs with Bilstein B8 (~$1.4k)
2) H&R springs with Koni FSD (~$2k)

Based what I have read from the previous threads, the verdict is pretty much divided between the 2 shocks. Though I am more inclined towards getting option 1 as it is in line with my budget, however, I am wondering if the performance of Koni FSD is really worth the $600 price differential? What I seek to achieve at the end of the day is a firmer (but not harsh) ride.

Anyone has experience with both the Bilstein and the Koni? Care to share?

Thanks.

Re: Bilstein B8 or Koni FSD

i know stock shocks are no good... but if you can wait up to 2.5-3 years or 60,000km to wear them out first, then change might be more economical... i waited long long...

just changed mine to B8+Eibach (B12)... puts a smile on my facce every time i karp corner... the rest are just miles (no lah, about 20-30m) behind after that...

The B8s are harsher than stock... can feel the bumps... but the car is not floating like a ship anymore...

H&R springs are a little more ex than Eibach... so it is not a apple to apple comparison you are doing... so it is not exactly $600 apart...

it is always a compromise between ride comfort and stability...

not tried Koni to comment though...

choice is yours... though you may not be able to test both on your ride unless two bros on B8 and Koni give you a test drive...
