snowman said:i dont think it expensive boring the trottle body to a bigger diameter right??? by the way, u know who can do it?? or who can assist in doing it??? TIA
quiksilver said:It depends on your threshold and definition of "EXPENSIVE".
For example, if to you, GruppeM is expensive compared to Simota, then Boring = GruppeM. u are better off looking for second hand ECU chips in the buy/sell forum, it might suit your budget more.
by the way, changing the displacement of your car this way is illegal cos u r cheating the govt of road tax...

Here a pix of vlavetronic engine, the servo motor at the top controls the third camshaft. The Y-arms which at their base move the fulcrum of the rocker arms back and forth, varying its leverage. Thus varies the valves opening amount.

piggyboyz said:Boring out the throttle body on our car is impossible, at least for Singapore mechanic.
The throttle body is electronically controlled, boring out the throttle body will require the throttle butterfly to be replaced with a bigger diameter, else there will be too much air leak. the throttle butterfly has got the connecting rod connected to a gear, which is in turn connected to a sealed electronic motor. u must be ready to strip the whole electronic before u can even think of boring out the throttle body.
For the 320, 325, easiest will be to get a 330 ones and do a bit of modification to the intake manifold.
