Just to share my experience when I purchase my 318 sport model 2 months ago. Very funny mistake made by PML sale staff and her direct Manager.

1. used scrap paper without owner knowing and later ask owner to sign a agreement form inorder PML can transfer scrap paper money back to thier own car dealer.

2. fix wrong size rim. According to spec, rear rim should be bigger than front for sport edition. Luckily I study the spec before collecting my car. Till today cannot give any good reason only said their workshop mistake.

3.Additional 5% NCB still did not get from PML insurance. Promise to release last month but till today did not receive any money from their insurance agent. When collection my new 318, PML sale staff said they will follow up but till today never heard any new from them.

Normally I purchase my BMW from TTS, their service is better then PML. Very sad that why direct agent can give such poor service to regular customer of BMW.

collecting my car sometime this week and will definitely look over the car carefully.
thanks for the heads-up bro!
have been hearing some real gripes about PML lately and we should all not take things for granted with them.

M0095R is right. The sports edition should be:

225/45ZR17 front (7.5" rims) and
245/40ZR17 rears (8.5" rims).

Also make sure they give you relative new tires; you can check the manufacturing date code. It's a 4 digit number like 0416 which means week 16 of 2004.

Congrats on the ride.

(oops -- I meant to say 245/40 for the rears - sorry)

how to check 7.5" and 8.5"??? thought the M68 17" are the same.

okie... gonna check it out tonight.

the sport edition should be
Front = 7.5 X 225/45 ZR17
Rear = 8.5 X 245/40 ZR17

hi Brudder,

The rear tyres for Sport edition should be 8.5J x 245/40 R17. It's written on page 70 of the BMW 3 series brochure.

Wow, the sports edition 318 comes with 225/45ZR17 front (7.5" rims) and 245/45ZR17 rears (8.5" rims). Am surprised as the stock M3 rims are 235 18 front and 255 18 rear, and thats for a car that has almost twice the hp... wondering what the increased rolling drag resistence is...

trogen,

sorry - my mistake - it's 245/40ZR17 for the rears.

MRacer77,

fuel consumption SUCKs. Should have stuck to 205/55/16 :) :)

I was just thinking to myself that for a 318 to have that size of wheels, it is seriously overtired...

I am sure that FC is negatively affected and not to mention that the car is probably slower with the increased rolling resistance.

Same here. I changed from 17" to staggered 18" on an e39 and my FC increased from 450km (for 65 litres of petrol) to 420km :(

But everytime I look at the staggered formation of the rims from aesthetics perspective, I still :)

Bro, depends on how you look at it. But when I saw your car after the change, it looks alot more fierce. :twisted:

Mracer77 is right... fuel consumption sucks big time, as in it really sucks up petrol... car is not run in yet and i have a figure of about 11-12 litres of V-Power to go 100km so far... this is bad.

but, the ride really looks fierce though. :roll:

did any of you pay the S$2k deposit for the trade-in car???
