Worse.....LTA respond to public tip offs

More caught illegally altering vehicles: LTA

At this rate, should we downsize TP, as well as the HDB, URA and LTA-enforcement divisions since the citizen/PR/foreigner population is stepping up self-victimization?

Perhaps for once, technology and productivity gains will actually create direct benefits to Singaporeans in terms of a smaller civil servant population to support, rather than being perceived as a cause of some agencies' headaches who have to justify their existences with changing times.

Actually ilegal mods has been around for decades, just that in the past they are not so strict, tats y their figures show only 100+ cases last time. Past few yrs they became so on abd started nabbing illegal mods and the figures became 1000+ per year.

Of course also partly due to the recent years fatal accidents.

BBK mods are the focus now ?

Once LTA gets more time on their hands with the public helping to take care of the tints, HIDs, undercarriage lightings and turbo/exhaust mods, they will certainly have to focus on new areas.

Also because now, TP and LTA have cameras everywhere, Cisco doing jobs which they used to do in the past, and public STOMPIG our own kind.

There will come a time where the cases would overwhelm their manpower capacity.Sonehow i feel that TPs are not as common on the roads as before. Nowadays heavy vehicles are occupying 1st lane and speeding like no garment. ....
Usual suspects are mainly the foreign drivers....

Re: BEWARE BROS....more caught illegally mod their cars

I encountered so many big potholes on the road today, and long stretches of unevenly patched road (done up after digging). These are dangerous for drivers, not least motorcyclists.
What is LTA doing?

Also, are the serious accidents mainly attributable to careless drivers or drivers who mod their cars illegally?
I cannot be convinced unless LTA or TP provided statistics on how many accidents are cause by illegally modified exhausts, lights and tinting. If they cannot provide, and say that these cause nuisance rather than dangerous vehicles, then they should maybe spend more resources on other dangerous drivers' behaviors, road conditions, lousily designed roads and junctions, traffic lights timings, widening of roads (where possible). Stop wasting too much resources and tax payer's money on the lower risk things.

Re: BEWARE BROS....more caught illegally mod their cars

Last time I had to dig roads before with bangas etc. Potholes are always a classic case of PWD vs LTA vs Starhub / Singtel vs PUB. Mud sling galore.

About bigger risks - I have lost track of the number of accidents at the Farrer Road death trap flyover since my last post but here's the latest - the cars flew over the flyover and left the road divider like this ......

Their mindset will not change unless the mould is changed.

Ambulances were involved and it was pretty loud.

There are quite a number that happened in between and still no action.......LTA busy instead with illegal mods.

I don't fault them really... what to do when their KPI is based on such stuff.

Who sets all the rubbish KPIs... their bosses. And who appoints their bosses, and in turn their bosses' bosses, the top brass of LTA/TP, and the ministers.........
