Battery lifespan and registration

How long can an oem battery last? And how much for a replacement. I read from overseas forums that BMW battery needs to be registered?
Anyone on aftermarket battery?

Try searching this forum instead of the ang mo forum and you can also find loads of info about battery registration, map update etc .....

And yes .... You can put any battery into a BMW as long as it has the din terminals .... You may not want to drop a SL type battery into a f series though.
