Auto GEarbox Oil

You can never get all the oil out of the auto gearbox if you do not do either:
1. Use ATF changer and run a raised car while swapping the fluid
2. Strip the grear box completely apart

If you just remove the drain plug, about 75% of the fluid will drain out leaving 25% still within the pipes and plates.
Therefore 2.5-3L should sound about right 2L is a little low. Suggest you bring it down to a local BM familiar workshop to check the level of the oil just in case.

Thanks for ur advice. Went to J4C. All done and settled.

wat mileage then is recommended for ATF change?

Wat brand, where you purchase and cost for ATF?

Which wkshop you patronize across the border to do BMW?

Please advise.

Cool Wayne... did you add any additives into the oil?

BTW, just to confirm with the guys, the auto gearbox uses ATF Dexron III oil right?

Thanks
