Auto folding side mirrors

I have a button on the driver's door which electronically folds in the mirrors but I know this can also be done when you click the key-fob to lock the car.

How to though? My "helpful" contact at PML is no more "helpful" given that the sale has been completed. Anyone else out here who can help?

From what I gleaned from the UK forums - it is a dead easy job, and needs 15 minutes.

Any help would be appreciared

ya dun go the the sales guy...go the the after sales guy...they just need to reprogramme only. they got new feature...press the button and car can transform to this:

back to topic, can share with us once you got it done. if its really 15mins job I don't mind having mine done. the folding seem useless to me, other than allow me more space to squeeze to traffic jam at woodland. the rest of the time, i don't even used it at all.

took it down to where? PML? or outside workshop? BTW I had folding feature but just dont have that auto close/open while lock/unlock my car. I prefer to leave the mirror cause it act as some extra protection to other car doors touch my car. jus me maybe.

Cheaper to get kinks out of your door rather than replace these electronic mirrors. If I remember correctly, about $3,500 per mirror is replacement.

Thanks toto - just called her up - might get booked in for this Friday.

Pisstake from PML Sime Darby though! When I press and hold the locking button on the key, it works in terms of windows (i.e. if they are down, they come up) but the blxxdy mirrors dont work! Hopefully this friday it gets sorted out and then I will be a happy person.

acu....only pml can do this programming. electronics stuff....hv to go back to dealer..no other option.

Talked to "Cindy" who advised me that PML doesnt have the software for the 3 series.

The software required is the bloody onboard diagnostic tool to read error codes. This means if my car goes bonkers, there is NO service backup.

Have mailed my contact in PML Sime Darby again. will update if anything there happens.
