Hi i am thinking of installing a ATF cooler for my E46, anyone know if it is beneficial?

or just change the oil at regular intervals? eg. 50k km good enough.

BVO no more stock and unlikely bringing in anymore.

Trans cooler is a very good idea. You can fit an aftermarket "one size fits all" cooler.

Dont they come stock with coolers?

Re: ATF cooler anyone have?

I hit the malaysia old highway to desaru weekly.. do quite abit of single lane overtaking...
would that be considered harder then normal driving?

Hi,

Is 50K ATF change the norm? Any undesirable side-effects if one was to change it more frequently like every 10K or 20K?

TIA.

Re: ATF cooler anyone have?

Just to add something that i have experienced.
The e46 model does not comes with a ATF cooler (they actually route it to the water radiator) could be climate possibility and cut costs.
But the e36 does.
What i have done for my previous ride was to actually buy a use e36 any model will have and get it fitted to the e46. But major mod will be the 2 pipes. The rest are bolt on.

Re: ATF cooler anyone have?

side effect is on your wallet. think for normal driving change every 30k should be more than sufficient
