n ladies n gentlemen, thats why we go to school to learn about demand and supply. those who did not like botay, learns that when he give 1 goal on monday turns to 1/1.5 on sat morning......

buy low sell high. if u want to buy now n sell 1 yr later its call entering into a futures contract.

when u rent out ur car at a certain interest rate...its call yield.
yield can be duration weighted as well. then u must learn convexity leow....

ignore those dumbo arguments above on car valuations knn all sound like phd type..make me headache reading....just remember there is only ONE price that matters....the price the car trades at..

u can think whatever u want ask whataver ur car is worth....offer whatever u think the car is worth....n talk how smart u are about ur logic etc.

only the price that trade matters......

ABD if this car is the langa car that hoot the motorbike at the multi story car park and its all over my car forum. the price of the car is ZERO. mata coming to catch u

i totally agree with those statements.

i guess this IS the point of the dicussion, the assessment. same reason why market reports are sent out by banks and brokers and various industries.. even diamond prices have a rapaport diamond report. some are truthful standards, some are meant to mislead.

sgcarmart is Not a market that is scrutinized by authorities nor professional bodies.. there are No watchdogs. it is merely a platform to advertise cars for sale, Thus - It presents A SELLER'S Perception of prices. it is accessible to Anyone selling, and 'Anyone' forms this market. using this Seller's perception as a basis of assessment in itself is Fundamentally Flawed.

apologies if it gives u a headache reading. this isn't abt ego, it's abt truth, understanding and ignorance.

it really depends on how fast you want to sell your bimmer. 5k less or more is probably like 3-4 months' worth of installments. if you can wait 4 months to fetch 5k extra it kinda balances out, doesn't it? ;)

hehe, optimist versus pessimist? cos price can very well come Down too. that would make it a double-whammy. if u are so bent in 5k more... u would not be in the right frame to stomach 10k less.

of cos the coe is on the up now, so can still afford time. but that's Provided u have 2 cars... otherwise, if u sell high & u need a replacement - u would also be buying high.

i made a point on how best if u can keep 2 cars. it's one of the reasons why i hold 3. as long as if u need to buy & sell within the same period, or sell & buy. u can hardly take advantage of the market high/lows without going on public transport for awhile.

if u wait 4mths to fetch an extra 5k (assuming it does come thru), just be wary not to eat into another year of further Parf reduction OMV. so u need to know your car Values Very Well. and u also gotta watch out for the launching of the next 3-series. it means u really need to do your homework.

cheers.

ABD, I did a quick search on Feb 2006 320i in sgcarmart today and found 4. Nevermind 1 or 2 or 3 owners.

1) Prices vary from 68,988 to 74,800 so taking an average out of the 4 cars, the price is 71,597.
2) Ok, supposing people bargain here and there and the agreed selling price is 70,000.
3) Now, minus 5,000 kopi money and you should realistically let go at 65,000. I don't know if the dealer markup is 5,000 or 7,000 or 10,000 but some dealer friends I know said 5,000 is generally acceptable for quick sale. Agree on this markup and mark down your car price accordingly.

Now, here's my unbiased, non-philosophical, non-lecture type, non-sarcastic type contribution to one and all following this discussion.

my 5-yr mark is coming up soon and by the time i swap it for the F30, will keep in view these nos. tks

Re: Assess my E90 320i(Feb 2006)

dun tink e90 ever got higher than launch price of 155k with no overtrade. in fact, it was steadily going lower as overtrade gets higher. when i bought in jul 2008, list price 138k, coe 15.7k, omv 40k, overtrade 22k with free one pair f1 grandstand tickets. go figure how much i actually paid :)

Re: Assess my E90 320i(Feb 2006)

it's actually one of reasons why i never actually bought one... the prices can be so erratic... of cos when i was shown around 120k levels, i sorta evexpected it to be pretty buyable already. lowest i actually got was 118.8k, it's hard to go cheaper than that.

Re: Assess my E90 320i(Feb 2006)

just following up...

heard the bmw320 being advertied on class95 at 149,800 for a new one with the full works thrown in...

so does that mean prices will go down now?

an erratic price range is pretty damaging to ownership. guess sentiments may change... i would really like to know the eventual selling price once this car and others of the same year are sold.

not to win an argument, but to just be closer to reality... Anyone wants to volunteer some price info? or maintain silence and hope for the best...

Re: Assess my E90 320i(Feb 2006)

The promo price 149,800 is for the 318i, I believe. Call up ur PML SE to find out.
The 320i is somewhere near 172,800.

Yup, 149 800 for 318i with the same specs / equipments as my dad's 2007 320i. Basically, u don't get alot of equipment.

ahh ok roger that. i guess they're really pricing the 318s to sell... but not attractive then. i found the website BMW 3 Series

think i heard the 3-series n assumed the 320... 318s haven't been in the equation for awhile actually, dun know why they brought it back.

cheers!
