OMV: around $39,000
COE: $9,500
PARF: not sure, but saw other cars similar at around $21,712
Mileage: 70,000km only
No of owners: 1
Bought from PML. regularly serviced. Accident free.
Silver exterior, Black Interior
ECU tuned, generates about 5 to 10 bhp more than a stock car with just 150bhp.
19 inch BBS CK rims.

I have picture of my car somewhere under this forum. I will find it.

So brothers, with COE now at $56k, can my car fetch around $72k ?

Re: Assess my E90 320i(Feb 2006)

similar age, dealer quoted me a trade in price of $53k

Re: Assess my E90 320i(Feb 2006)

Dealer price? Wow that is a rip off? Seriously anyone sold directly owner to owner at what price and care to share or PM me please. When the new car is almost $170k, I cant understand how a dealer quoted $53k. If a car roughly 5 years old approximate a COE of $28k, how can the value of car itself cost the balance of $53k - 28k = 25k? The car is still useable for 5 years.

a similar car in sgcar is going at 73k:

Used BMW 320i Car for Sale in Singapore, Auto Zoom Enterprise - sgCarMart

minus about 10k and that will be your price by the dealer [thereabouts].

direct buyer can meet at a middle pt, i.e. 68k.

cheers.

p.s. my view is personal based on my humble experiences.

thx vm. Wow that one on SGCARMART is 2 owners somemore. Mine certainly looks better wih 19 inch rims somemore:p. Everthing else is similar with that advertised car.

Re: Assess my E90 320i(Feb 2006)

the problem wirh spore is that all the selling prices would collectively be used to form a "market" value by most sellers, or the unsavvy buyer. what is fair value? the price at which this market price is formed? or based on demand and supply?

whilst most sellers want the best price, u must understand that at any one time, or let's say Now... there are 112 bmw 320s in sgcarmart alone across the generations. this excludes the new stocks at PML, and the dealers who Dun use sgcarmart, as well those who haven't begun advertising the sale.

besides the multitiudes of bmw3's in the resale market, the first thing that stares at me as a buyer is your COE. am i stupid enough to pay u your perceived fair value based on current selling price where the coe component is a good 40-50k more? and new car prices will include the 3yrs warranty, doesn't it?

from my perspective as a non-desperate buyer where the money in my hand is something u want, and the car in your hand is something i can find at every car dealer... i dun think u have any advantage as a seller who sells at the same price as everyone. the only advantage u can get is via price, and perhaps abit of a colour or rims. but u can go check out the other 100cars to see how much yours stand out.

i have bought and sold many cars over the years, as a typical enthusiast, and sadly, only we ourselves can appreciate certain aspects of our mods and upgrades. others dun really care, and rightfully so.

half the time, i see pple ending up selling to dealers at 53k after trying too hard at 70k. the typical seller will get desperate as time closes in and end of the day, the dealers will benefit. in the first place, u should be looking at 58-60k instead of trying your luck til time runs out.

so my best advice is this... if u really wanna play prices, get what u want and win most of the time.... the only way is to have holding power and own at least 2 cars each time, and not be in a position where u need to sell when u buy, or buy when u sell. pple lose money becos of this.

take my advice constructively, u can wish for the best price, but realistically u're just deceiving yourself with hopeful thoughts. wanna play cars, then learn to accept the realistic acceptable depreciation and live with it.

i see the current bunch of sellers in the market trying to make a quick buck from the current high coe, and it tells me these owners were stretching to own their cars in the first place. not cool at all, it's a flaw in mentality.

i was offered a new bmw320i by PML at below 120k a few years ago, most pple who know, will know the fair value. why even try, and make pple think lesser of u? losing 60-70k for 5yrs on 320s, C200s, A4s.... Is a Norm., just accept and move on. with 70k on hand now, i will try the 3yr+ E90s first, and offer the 20-30 pple, especially direct owners. i just need 1 to accept, or another to ask me for 3k more... and i have a deal liao.

i bought 3cars last year and sold 2. all the cars i bought are selling higher than my purchase price even today, but does that mean i can sell them for a profit? at most if break even.

Hi,

I think it will depend on how urgent you want to dispose the car. Just a indication, i just got a coming to 5 yrs old E90 325i @ 87K, omv @ 52.5K, direct seller to direct buyer. :)

Re: Assess my E90 320i(Feb 2006)

i just sold off my prev car with $40k worth of parts at the avg selling price of a stock car on sgcarmart.

ie. the buyer paid stock car money with $40k worth of accessories free. last i heard, he was busy demodding and recouping back $20k from the parts.

Was initially angry but then again, i still got back $10k more than what the dealer was quoting me.

Best of luck, u just gotta be patient in a private sale.
All else failing, just throw it to a dealer for a quick sale (at a low ball price) !

//M3 4 dr next ?

Re: Assess my E90 320i(Feb 2006)

I was told by some dealers that the body for 320i (2005-2006 )is between $15k - $18k. So, If you add up your balance COE & Parf . That will be your present value of your car.

Don't know info correct or not. Any bro care to comment?

Re: Assess my E90 320i(Feb 2006)

53k is quite a low ball offer, i think ard 57-63k sounds reasonable for a 5 year 3 months old BMW depending on condition.

Re: Assess my E90 320i(Feb 2006)

considering 5 years old bmws normally have to spend around 1-2k fixing the oil leaks, lower arms n bushings etc..

Re: Assess my E90 320i(Feb 2006)

My car is exactly the same age as yours (Feb 2006) and oddly also the same OMV. Is yours an Asian Aerospace model w/o cruise control and auto headlight?

I bought it last year July @ $70K. Optimistically I would let it go at $64-65K now if I were to maintain the depreciation at the time I bought it.

Given the dealer's margin is usually about 8-10K, there you have it - a lowball price of $53K. Try a few more dealers - you might get a deal for about $58K.

And yes, after I bought it, it had leaks here and there. I spent in total slightly under 2K for all the repairs so far.

Never cheap to own a car here, especially a BMW.

Well, it is a well known fact.

I think our bro is hinting that your price is on the high side...

I m not hinting at anything here.

Just stating a fact how ridiculous dealer buy-in can be.
