The "hold down accelerator for 25s" trick for smoother shift - 5 Series Forums

got it courtesy from another forum. Maybe can help to solve the E60 jerking problem before stopping. Will give it a try later in the night.

Sorry if its been posted before...just want to share.

Since my car is still under warranty, send my car to PML to resolve jerky gear change, especially from 3->2 at DS mode. They test drove it to confirm the problem and took 3 days to "tune". After that, most of the "jerkyness" has been remove, but the wait is painfully long.

This is what I did:
1) insert key - radio turned on
2) pressed Start button once
3) stepped on accelerator pedal for almost 30 sec

And ..... Nothing happened!

Did I missed out any step?
Thanks

I tried that yesterday. Must say immediately the gear car seems much much better.
