Anyone tried superchip b4?

Re: Anyone tried superchip b4?

My year 2000 BMW 318i had the M43TU engine which was the last of the line prior to the Valvetronic introduced in 2002.
Powerchip is an Australian company that appears to have representatives in many countries. Their website provides revised power/torque curves for the 1895cc 8-valve engine i.e 12kw and 20nm improvements using 95 octane fuel.
I cannot say whether these figures are actually realised but I can confirm that there are performance improvements in the two areas where the 318i was weakest, specifically in pulling power and in overtaking at 90plus km per hour.
I suggest that anyone with an M43TU-engined BMW may wish to check out the Powerchip website.

Re: Anyone tried superchip b4?

Previously, i was skeptical about all this chipping business and was not very convinced of its power gains. But when I had a Powerchip software uploaded via serial programming into my previous car, a Peugeot 206GTi 2.0, it did make a noticeable difference. Acceleration was more brisk and the ride was also smoother. Even the exhaust note was slightly more throaty. Powerchip is not a 'hardcore' mod, but it does make your car more driveable. With the rev limit raised, i was able to utilise the power band more efficiently. Some of my previous friends driving the 206 also went with the mod and were very pleased with the result.

Now, after a positive experience with Powerchip, i've gone the extra mile and brought Powerchip right here to our door step. Powerchip Singapore (Exclusive Agent) will be launched in Singapore in mid-Dec 07. An engineer from Australia will be responsible for all installation and tuning matters.
