Anyone got instructions to change bulbs on a e46 320ci?

Thanks. Managed to change one of my xenon already.. and the rain starting pouring. :p

Real difficult part is putting back the rubber cup.. phew....

So now back at home waiting for the rain to change the other. :)

BMW original uses OSRAM xenon bulbs?

hmm... rain seems to be stopping...back to work again...

I got problem removing the lateral piece in step 1 from the e46fanatics site.

Wonder if anyone know how ths is done and provide me some details where the catches are or how they look like?

Not sure the squeezing or compressing is in which direction...

The catch is on both end of the lateral piece of bumper.

Push it to either to left orright so that u get more allowance to remve it.

Else, u can put ur hand on either side and just pull it out, it will still come out...

Hope this helps

Thanks. Will try it again tomorrow morning. :)

Err... another dumb question here....

When changing the bulbs, I realised there's another knob that's sort of hidden at the extreme corners, visible from the hole where you put a screw driver to dislodge the side indicators.

Tried turning the knob either direction, does not seem to do anything.

Err... can another enlighten me that knob is for what har?

What bulb r we talking here ? Fog or Xenon ?

Post pics if possible.. Easier to identify than 1000 words

For the xenon. Still have yet to take out my fog yet.

Not sure take pictures can come out or not since the knob is quite hidden.

U do not need a screw driver to change the xenon light

U prolly have just turned the screw to adjust the left/right alignment of the xenon light.

The light can be adjusted to point left/right and up/down using the manual adjustment screwfound on the main housing of the light unit.

Here's the picture of the knob I'm refering to :

What's that gray box thing? I dun remember seeing it on my car.

Grey box is your Xenon ballast :)

You won't have it if you are using halogen lights (stock is yellow)..

Hi ! CyberTron.

As for my car E46 Saloon, this knob can adjust the headlight leveling.

If you turn your car headlight leveling to maximium inside your car from 2 to 0. Then you can further adjust your headlight by turning this knob.

Well, I am not sure about your Xenon light

particularly because electric switch adjustment doesnt work anymore, the manual knobs become the only way in which to adjust your left/right and height.
