after 3 complain visits to PML, the testers even let me test drives newer cars...
i must say : bm brakes is too grippy for my liking. i cannot stop smoothly like my previous japanese rides.

Any bros have solution like softer brake pads or brake system that can reduce the harsh (at least to me) and grippy brakes?

Thanks :)

I think it's a matter of getting used to.

I've driven a lot of models during the year and it's basically the same characteristics.

Robot, no wonder i have itchy back the whole day.

TS, BMW is build for Autobahn. That's why brake need to be grippy. I am using the softest brake pad & it still bite hard on the rotor.

let yr leg learn to modulate the pressure applied.. as Ryan said it is matter of getting used to..

we all been training one leg to brake smoothly... switch to another leg.. i bet you it will be grippy and jerky. grippy brake is a good thing ..bimmer has one of the best brakes in the market..

one day i was driving a friend's A/M db9.. the brake was so rubbery and long in travel.. in my heart i said POS... i not sure all aston's brake is like that.. but the one i drove really sucks... after driving a while i just had plunge my foot hard to brake.. (oops solly to all bros out there who are driving aston's..)

Re: Any solution to grippy brakes?

wait till u try audi, vw or lambos brakes......bmw brake feel is second to the mini.

Re: Any solution to grippy brakes?

I pretty like the BMW brakes... in fact just change to goodridge brakeline to have even more sensitive brakes. I just dont like the stock brake pad .. too much dust.

Re: Any solution to grippy brakes?

Thanks bros for all the encouragement
Today i felt i improved on getting the right braking pressure

The sheer joy of driving bmw way justify a little learning and adjustment
Loving' it :)

Cheers !

Re: Any solution to grippy brakes?

First post!

anyway, i've been driving a Nissan sunny for the past 8 years, and a 2004 z4 for about 8 months in the states. Never really noticed a diff btwn the sunny and z4 braking. but i definitely do notice the sticky bite on my current bimmer E60.

I believe that weight is a considerable factor.

I personally release the brakes a tad bit just before the car comes to a complete stop to preclude the lil jerk at the end. i know its a small point but i just realized its a pet peeve when i get that jerk when the car stops.
