In the market for a super charger kit.

anyone fitted them b4?
who is SG deals in them?

thanks in advance ya!

Dun think anyone will reply on this thread, most likely ppl will PM you. Nothing against u bro.

There is a few SC kit for BMW...

Basically AA, ASA and ESS have them.

Best option will be getting them yourself and get some workshop familiar with BMW to get installed...

What model is your car ?

yes there are a few workshop that deals with them. if you contact the sc company and tell them where you live (that means singapore) they'll be able to point you to their local agent.

any one have the contact number of these shops in SG?

i have checked with the manufacturers......there dun have dealers in S'pore!.

so i am assuming that these shops are importing them in themselves.

my car is the E46 325i Step.

there are a few compressor manufacturers, like vortex, eaton, ASA, etc

tuners will choose the compressors and build kits around them. the newest kid on the block is made by a young engineer, who formed ASA to manufacture his new creation. this kit proved so efficient (up to 15 times your engine rpm, using a turbo's turbine as a blower) that many tuners began switching to using ASA's SC instead.

current tuners like rennsport, infinitas, ess, alpina, ac schnitzer etc use ASA.

other tuners who use superchargers like novitec, TRD, may choose other blowers but they will manufacture their own kit to fit.

car manufacturers will also use them in their production cars, like merc benz which uses i believe vortex SCs, as well as other cars like Mini, ford gt, etc.

what you want is a complete kit, and not just a blower only. Contacting ASA and buying a supercharger off them is completely useless to you, unless you want to fabricate everything to fit the SC into your car. so you're better off looking for rennsport from USA, infinitas from Germany, ESS tuning from Norway etc.

aiyo......
my enquiry is, where in singapore can i find a shop that will sell my a SC kit by ESS.

You can just contact the vendors directly and they will ship all the necessary parts as a kit to you. The kits can be DiYed so any good car workshop will be more than able to fit it for you when you have it.

you see, i am located in Malaysia.

I want to get the ESS kit but they do not have a dealer in close by. So i have to order it online direct from the USA.

getting it DHLed to me will cost an arm and leg as there is a 30+10 for duty and tax.

so is it true that importing car parts into SG is tax free, except for the 5% GST?

danielO,

I don't know about that. I buy stuff online from overseas and so far never even get GST. I don't know about car parts since they will be rather large and bulky so hard to avoid attention.
Assuming the whole kit is 30kg, it will cost about $400-500 to air freight it to Singapore from USA or Europe.

Actually, piggyboyz might be able to help you with an Infinitas dealer in Malaysia.

ESS USA quoted me about USD250 to get it FEDEX here.

how can i contact piggyboyz?

I have e-mailed the Infinitas manufacturer, because i have the auto transmission, they do not recommend i fit the ASA SK1 (which they sell) unless i reinforce my transmission....another large cost ontop of the SC kit.....already POK la!

there's an infinitas dealer in malaysia, and he's a member of the malasian bmw club. look for jesse from Bina, located near cheras there. there should already be a couple of 3.0L ASA SK1 malaysian cars running about malaysia now.

for ESS, the nearest dealers you have are located in HK and bangkok. pls note that the ESS ASA kit doesnt come with intercooler, and the one with the IC kit is generally more expensive. But the ess kit is neater. in this case, you'll have to order directly from norway, or get them to get the bangkok dealers to ship the kit to you, which should be way cheaper.

Active Autowerks also makes a kit for the E46 325. You might try giving them a call. Although they do not have a dealer in Asia, they have no problems getting the kit to you. You just need to find a garage you comfortable with to install the kit. All instructions in English are included.
