Dear Bro and Sis,
Care to share your experience in RIMs polishing service?

In the US, its common for owner to polish RIMS down to bare metal, and its very very shinny, very Chio look. Of course, their country dry dry, so oxidization not very bad,

From metallurgy perspective, if the Alu rims well polished, the surface structure should be so fine that oxidation wont look so bad. Morevoer, it gives a very distinct look....of course, the harder the Alu-Alloy, the more shine you can get.

Care to share?

my POW if you do so .is the start of nightmare.
after polish to bare metal which expose to air (humid).
corrosion will takesplace immediately and you have to manually polish them otherwsie it will give you a blur look.
in fact we already can see some inferior quality wheel corroded even was paint finished

For Alu-Alloy, once oxidation takes place, it forms a coating on the surface preventing further oxidation. Of course, that doesn't mean it wont oxidize further if we subject to harsher environment.

'Look' is something really subjective. Want mirror finish? Better go Chrome....:woottt:

I remember back in the US, neighbors huge SUV Alu-Rims were looking like chrome. Closer observation, I was told that its bare Alu,,,,of course, the quality of the Alu-Alloy is important to hold the polish. They did lacquer it after polish to seal in the shiine. I can't really put in words but the finishing is pretty unique,,,,,again 'look' is subjective. :argue:

Remember all the complaints about brakedust? Now, mfr are spraying their rims looking like thick coat of brakedust.:liar:.... ask the REX racer boy, they'll tell you VERY NICE hor.

Anyone to share their experience?
