Any interest in a mini ICE meetup?

Re: Any interest in a mini ICE meetup?

Yes, I am interested.

Re: Any interest in a mini ICE meetup?

Bernard, just come for the meetup and start blasting!!

Can't wait to see your ICE in action!

Re: Any interest in a mini ICE meetup?

Wa liao, my one is not a blasting system lah. Just normal In-car-entertainment only. Will be interesting to finally meet some of the guys and listen to different setups within the same make.

I am also interested to have a listen to those with iPod adaptors, to see if its an avenue worth going down. Was never a fan of MP3 sound quality in the car, but I am waiting to be converted!

Re: Any interest in a mini ICE meetup?

If you're into High Fidelity. I don't think you'll be easily converted. BTW what HU are you using at the moment?

Thought we are all gonna to zoom into your trunk for some wild ride. ;)

Actually MP3 quality is ok if it's conpressed at 190kb or above; but of course, iPod is CD quality. How about audio DVD?

Re: Any interest in a mini ICE meetup?

The problem with the ipod is that there is no decicated line out. The only way you can get it is by using the IPod Dock etc. I seriously don't think IPod is cd quality. Alot depends on the mp3 coding quality.

I did mention it once, but when I installed my H701, I had a kind soul to lend me a 9833 HU to go along, so I never used it with the original HU.

Now I can't confirm (or rather forgot) whether the processor accepts high level inputs. If not, then you will need to use a hi-low converter, convert the speaker level output of the original HU to RCAs, then plug into the processor.

There should not be a lot of noise generated. IMHO, such noise would depend on your installation quality. I.E. how they run the signal cables etc.

When I was using the 9833 + 701, it had no optical output. Music was transferred from the single CD unit to the processor via AINET cable. This was an analog transfer, I did not experience noise. But the speakers and additional tuning the 701 made the whole system a lot more revealing.... meaning I could hear differences in quality of CD recordings - quite obvious.

Now the system has been upgraded to replace the 9833 HU with a in-dash DVD unit - IVA-D310. A lot more fun as it offers touch screen tuning of ALL my 701 functions, time alignment, EQ, crossovers etc.

What's bootleg?? Only buy original - support your artistes ... hahahah

Seriously - that's how and why Sheffield Labs closed down!!! Sheffield Records gave us so many top quality recordings and discs... the reminder of their discs are all collector's items now.

Eh hallo!!! SAME MAKE - BMW. 'Model' then it different. Unless you big brother 5 series don't see fit to play around with us smaller fish. :p

Thanks man. THat was wat i heard from someone, but my "sifu" has advised me already... The processor doesnt take in high level inputs i believe, so have to use an LOC. BTw, do u have any baby amp (50 x 2ch) to sell ? Need it for my tweets.
oh on...OT too much liao.. dont mind can PM me if u have. thanks.

Re: Any interest in a mini ICE meetup?

50x2 should be easy to get 2nd hand lah. Try any installer... they should have 2nd hand ones at anytime.

We can always chat more this sunday - our forum sifu/guru/expert Ghostrider will be on hand to help all poor souls and breathe wisdom upon us. :p

50 x 2 is easy to get... but its impt to get a good clean amp for tweets.

Re: Any interest in a mini ICE meetup?

No problemo, we can always arrange a separate time. Next week is kinda tough for me though, will be overseas.
