thanks

Re: Any Insider tips on this 525i?

yeah, pretty cool huh.....

so anyone got anything on this?
I'm considering this and another Black Dec 2003 525i.

Any thoughts and advise on the above?
Appreciate comments from the insiders here.

Re: Any Insider tips on this 525i?

Throttle,

Good to see you here.... Remember me from Singaporebikes?

Anyway, the main differences between the older and newer 525:

1. Older one does not have GPS
2. Older one runs with the M54 engine stock 193bhp but with a little help, maybe up to 300bhp...
3. A few minor differences, PM if you want more details.

Re: Any Insider tips on this 525i?

Thanks dude,

sorry dont remember that we've met but we must have since you said so.

what do you mean by old vs new

GPS, I'm not so bothered actually.

Cheers

Re: Any Insider tips on this 525i?

Well, the older one has a little less toys and utilizes the M54 engine (193bhp) whilst the newer one has more toys (eg. GPS) and utilizes the N52 engine (218bhp)... the LCI 5 series will carry a 3 litre engine and have the same amount of bhp but 20Nm higher torque....

If you recall, we have had a conversation about SunRoofs......

I happend to speak to Vincent (PML driver training chief instructor) 2 weekends ago about the incoming LCI5 series. I asked him about the 3ltr 525 218 hp model that is coming in July. He says PML does not intend to bring in the 3ltr 525 as it does not make business sense and will continue to bring in the 2.5ltr 218 hp 525. Not sure how long they will continue before BMW AG stops production of the 2.5lr 525.

So what you are saying is the body will be new but the engine remains the same... Sounds logical about the road tax etc....

Also I heard the 535 ain't showing up on our shores.....

From what I read on the New BMW 5 Series Facelift in Depth,
There is no 535. Only the 540. This develops 306hp. How Sad. Can't have the 535 developing the same BHP. Makes no sense.

On this website, there are photos of the new concept CS.

Since you are about to close the deal, can I ask how much is the seller wanting and mileage?

Hope you close a great deal.
