Need some legal advise on contractual dispute. IT sector.

Re: Any corporate lawyers here?

Bro,

contractual disputes are complicated as there are alot of factors concern. I see that you have just written "contractual disputes" and "IT sector". This itself require lawyers that are specialised in the sector. A corporate lawyer cannot give you advice "off-the-shelf".

May I suggest you consult a lawyer on the matter. A list of them are found on the web page at Law Society Sngapore. Just my "2-cents" worth to help you.

All the best.

Why not just post the problem here and see if anyone can help. I think there are a lot of smart people here. Sometimes an IT pro may even understand you problem better.

Re: Any corporate lawyers here?

I agree with V6ENGINE that disputes in itself isn't corporate and within disputes, there are specific people dealing with IT. That said, your small firms may just do everything. I would suggest that you first speak to your lawyer and depending on what they say, you might need to ask for fee cap.

If you want good advice, I doubt any good lawyers would be posting your solutions here anyway.

Re: Any corporate lawyers here?

Hi bros, thanks for all your help. For legal and other professional reasons I don't think I should post the problem here. I have gotten a few contacts and will work with those first. It seems for the small sum of the dispute, the best way forward is to resolve it between two parties. Involving lawyer is usually a painful, expensive and long process.

Just teaches me a lesson not to deal with dodgy vendors in future.

Dear Bro,

glad you found your way out to sort out the issues. But going forward always have a good contractual agreement to start with. Mediation, Arbitration or Med-Arb clauses are "must have" to protect all parties interest to start with.

I sincerely wish you the best for the outcome.

Thanks bro! Will keep that in mind!

Re: Any corporate lawyers here?

Maybe you need a lawyer that specialises in IT matters rather than a corporate lawyer.

In any case, what is your contractual claim/dispute amount? There may be other alternative routes and if it is too small, you need to balance that against your legal fees.

Re: Any corporate lawyers here?

The dispute is between $10,000 to $20,000

Re: Any corporate lawyers here?

For that amount you can go to the Small Claims Tribunal. No lawyers needed.

You appear for yourself. Lawyers cannot represent you at SCT.
